Character: Alastor | lonelysmiles Canon:Hazbin Hotel, right after cooking jambalaya for the hotel residents at the end of the pilot About: Alastor is a demon from literal Hell. In life he was a radio broadcaster and serial killer with a penchant for cannibalism. He died and went to Hell, eliminating all of the old Overlords upon arrival. He himself then decided to just let others take the territory and do whatever entertained him...only after nine decades he's gotten pretty bored of Hell.
He likes to screw with people and takes delight in others' suffering. However, he has a warped moral compass that compels him to protect the weak. He's taken to traveling to various people's nightmares with the idea of being entertained. He'll step in when he thinks it's not being fun anymore.
Plans: General Plans Alastor is slooooowly working his way towards becoming a guardian though he'd never admit to such a position. He likes hopping from nightmare to nightmare to witness all the fun forms of torment but if someone is weak, he'll step in due to his moral code. He can't be relied upon to save you but as time goes on and he starts to care more, he could at least be counted on to pull people out of jams.
I also have a series of dreams based on the official Alastor comic which allows a character to walk a proverbial mile in his shoes if you're interested in that sort of thing. There is one more part left to go, but I’m not sure when that will be posted. Though mind the key content warning: This is Hell from the prospective of a cannibalistic serial killer. Not Nice Things can and will happen.
Honestly, he needs more friends. Being the boogeyman of Hell means that he doesn't get much socializing in. Arguably one reason he bargains in souls is to collect people who won't leave him. He's used to having people flee before he can even finish saying "hello". Redemption is a big theme in Hazbin Hotel but it's doubtful that Charlie's more idealistic measures will really work for him. He's lonely but his social skills are hella rusty.
Fair warning though: Alastor picks favorites but he's a pretty amiable (if kinda terrifying) person all around. Once he's decided you're one of his favorites, he'll invade your personal space every opportunity he gets though he won't let you touch him unless it's on his terms. So be prepared to be pulled in for random side-hugs, song-and-dance numbers, and other such nonsense.
Unfortunately, he's starting to get into trouble. All these trips into nightmares are going to drive him to full noctaere form sooner or later (current tentative timeline is October), so he's definitely going to need people to snap him out of it.
Month-Specific Plans
Stormy Weather Alastor is going to be enjoying the lovely heat and humidity along with all that delicious rain. You can take the demon out of the bayou but you can't take the bayou out of the demon, it seems. Though he will admit raining starfish is new.
Glitching The glitching from last month is getting worse. His internal receiver is trying to connect to a radio signal like it was able to do all of April, but unfortunately there's no signal other than his own to connect to. It's giving him a lot of grief with headaches and increased irritability.
He's trying to hide it since there are people who now know what he did in life and continued to do in Hell. He's made...close acquaintances...here and he doesn't want to lose them. He's trying everything he can to distract himself and others from it, but it's going to start being obvious with his natural ambient static getting that lovely sound of tinnitus weaving in and out of it during one of these attacks.
It is possible to help him ride out the attacks and he'll even admit what the problem is if asked except he'll claim it happens very rarely and that your character just caught him on a bad day. Positive dreamotion can help ease the effects, but the root cause is that Alastor is building up too much negative energy due to his hobbies of nightmare walking and fighting noctaere outside of Reverein.
Rescue Elimei (TENTATIVE DEPENDING ON IF HE'S CHOSEN FOR ONE OF THE TEAMS)
I signed Alastor up to be on one of the teams to rescue Elimei. He's gotten quite fond of the little kirin twins, after all. Even took on a few of little Elimei's nightmares. He is not going to just leave her to her fate.
During the fight, he's likely to tap into some of that nightmare energy for extra power. He won't go full noctaere but he's going to start resembling his full demon form when he uses the nightmare energy. That temporary power boost will be helpful but it will have major consequences for him going forward.
However, this is all dependent on if he's selected for one of the two teams.
Dream Board Plans
Summer Foraging Going to be gathering ingredients for his own personal rootwork in addition to what various stores are requesting. He's happy to help others with their own foraging. If nothing else, it lets him show off his knowledge of plants.
Capybaras Went to see this strange creature due to curiosity and...well...
Look, these guys are really chill and relaxing, okay? So what if Alastor took a nap with them? Big deal! Look at all the other critters that are napping with them! QUIT JUDGING HIM!
Wishing on a Star(fish) Alastor finds the little glowing starfish kind of amusing. Keeping them in a jar in his treehouse isn't that big a deal plus they're pretty, so why not?
He was dead long before the invention of the lava lamp, but if they're anything like these little starfish in a jar, he can kinda see the appeal.
