i also had a cute thought which is, like... link is naturally quiet anyway, so they could do a lot of hanging out without a need for talking! (and he'd be more than willing to learn sign language too, which would honestly be super handy for him)

and link could maybe even teach him some music?? since it can be used for self-expression too
