About: Balthus is a bonafide himbo with a heart as big as his muscles (though really, the heart is a muscle, so it makes sense), a love of drink and gambling, and very little financial savvy. He's open and friendly, enthusiastic and energetic, and sometimes a little bit too much, but he always means well. He's self-appointed himself as the King of Grappling (often preceded by increasingly stupid adjectives) and loves a good brawl just as much as he loves free beer. He's older than most other students at Garreg Mach, being 27, and confesses to being a student for the second time around since he's been living underground at the monastery to hide from his evil stepmother and also debt collectors. Yes, this is real.
Abilities: Most of Balthus' abilities come down to skill and physique. He's incredibly skilled at hand-to-hand combat, whether it's with claws or bare-fisted, and the Crest he was born with allows him to occasionally heal himself after laying into a foe. He knows some limited magic thanks to his training as a War Monk (minor healing, and some offensive fire and white magic), and he's built like a human tank. Don't want to get hurt in combat? Stand behind this guy. He's interested in exploring what dreamotion energy allows him to do while dreamwalking; he may not be the smartest guy, but he has a certain degree of emotional intelligence, so being able to soothe or calm tumultuous emotions or dreams would be right up his alley and something I would like to focus on in the near future.
Dreamwalker Form: An Ashen Wolf at heart, Balthus has started sporting sharp, pronounced canines and wolf ears (gray, tapering into white at the tip) while Dreamwalking. Claws or a tail is probably nextβ¦
Plans: β Looking to expand his CR circle some more; Iβve been hitting up new characters with him regularly in the interest of doing so, but if you want to hang out with this guy, just say the word. β Beach stuff is high on his list; after last month he would really like to just relax for a little bit. The lunar dreamscape was roughβ¦ β He has some serious stuff to discuss with Hilda this month, for their friends who love to pry. β Possible quests: Ice Cream Crush, Dream Vehicles? Heβs an easy quest buddy to get along with, and heβll do just about any of them, honestly.
CR Dreams: Friends, sparring partners, drinking buddies- I would really love for him to get involved in some light gambling with anyone who might be inclined (even if itβs just cards and the like) for him to slip into some old habits. Heβs been doing well, since thereβs no currency here, but he can always backslide and find something else to betβ¦ As far as offering, he makes a great sparring buddy, bodyguard, workhorse, whatever. Heβs here to help you with your manual labor, just feed him for it.
