strawberryredgrave: (You got my attention)

This is one Hell of an event for Dante to walk in on, especially after the events of DMC5. I've been giving some thought on what kind of divide he'd have to do for this and I'm pretty pleased with the idea.

Dante A is, at first, your typical Dante encounter. A cocky showboat who likes putting on a show and looking cool in front of people. He wants attention, he wants praise, he wants company, he wants to pretend there's nothing wrong because talking about it means admitting there's a problem. He's gonna look like he lost several fights in a row, between bruises, cuts and a curious heart-shaped hole in his chest where his heart should be. He'll resent being told what he's doing is soulless or anything similar, but failing because of that will remind him of his brother and clue in this half that he needs the other.

Dante B, on the other hand, is a soft boy who can't lie to save his life. He has a dorky laugh, he's awkward around people, but also incredibly paranoid. As much as he wants to be around others, offer his undivided attention and let his guard down, there's always something to break the moment for him and convince him to leave. He's being hunted, he'll insist, and try to break the interaction with leading his pursuers away while others make a break for it. He won't mind being miserable if no one gets hurt because of him. Stubbornly refusing to leave or getting through to that big heart of his will convince him to not run away so easily, to piece himself back together so he can take on his pursuers a reason to fight back.

The two halves will try and avoid each other, but the occasions they meet can also be a point to drop in on. They can try to help others as much as they can offer a good fight scene, with A letting people give him a reality check and B needing to be told to stop being dumb in an emotional fashion. Dreamotion abilities of any kind will tear through them, in that case.
