DREAM NOTES #02.5: OCTOBER EVENT DETAILS

All right, here are the event details! There's quite a bit, so take your time reading through. This doubles as a plotting post and you can include general plans as well as Dream Board things along with event plans.

✵ EVENT TIMELINE ✵

Just a brief recap of what was listed in the Calendar. The first part of the event will go up October 8th and the second part will go up a week later, October 15th. These are OOC dates. The log will be forward dated so that ICly the event will occur during the last week of the month.

The event cannot be opted out—all characters will be pulled into it. However if players are not interested they can just handwave whatever their character is doing to do their own things. Everyone will be out of the dreamscape at the end of October 31st, and newcomers will start popping in during that first week of November. Any consequences from the event will be made official later in November.

✵ DREAMSHIFTS & DREAMSCAPES: HOW DO THEY WORK RECAP ✵

Because this is the first time anyone will have experienced a dreamshift, no one will know how they all got pulled into the massive dreamscape that just appears. Fortunately, although the tapirs are also clueless, they will give the characters some advice on how to traverse through it. They must either fulfill some kind of condition or just see the dreamscape to its timed ending, meaning the dreamscape will eventually close on its own and spit everyone out.

However, the tapirs will warn, the nature of the dreamscape is unusual as the "natives" inside it will notice if something feels "off" or "strange" happening in their little world. It will be in their best interest to pretend and blend in while there. At least they have all their dreamwalking abilities—whatever those may be. Just try not to turn the dreamscape into a nightmare or who knows what could happen!

After that, the tapirs will disappear because they can't really do much else and the characters will be left to their own devices. The journals won't be available but the crystals will be and is their primary means of "network" communication should it be needed.

✵ DREAMSCAPE SETTING ✵

It's a mashup of Halloween Town from Nightmare Before Christmas and the Underworld from Corpse Bride. So, yes, a very Tim Burton-y vibe. While the dreamscape is technically vast, there are three specific locations that everyone will be able to go to:

• Town Square. The main town that is bustling and looking quite alive despite its rather monstrous and undead citizens. The architecture style if a mix of ye olde Victorian England and steampunk—with bones and spiders and a lot of sharp things, of course. There is a giant cauldron in the center that acts as a fountain, and while touching it won't harm anyone, drinking it might cause a few green, gassy, flammable hiccups and fire breath. Goes away after half an hour.
  
  
• Graveyard. A large graveyard that serves less as a burial for the final resting place and more for an undead neighborhood. While some are silent due to their residents out partying elsewhere, some are throwing their own shindig in celebration of the wedding going on at the nearby chapel.
  
  
• Haunted Forests. A forest made of dead, rotted trees surround the town. The immediate perimeter is decorated with lanterns and streamers, but there are plenty of warning signs and even barbed fencing to prevent anyone from exploring further...and to prevent the forest inhabitants from coming out. For the first half of the event this area will be sealed off by strong magic, but it will be open during the second half where we'll have more complete details as to what can be found...

The people are an assortment of ghastly ghouls, ghosts, skeletons, and pretty much any creepy "horror" type person imaginable. However, while some are truly gruesome in appearance, most have a sort of "comical" or "cartoonish" look to them. Again, more of a Tim Burton kind of style. A sense of "it's so over the top it looks more silly than realistic." And while they will certainly try to spook each other and vie to be the "scariest," most of the denizens are quite friendly, especially as Halloween season is underway. While their definition of "fun" might be different than the usual norms, they are a simpleminded group and most will be enjoying their undead life.

Of course, not everyone is so "happy" or "goodnatured." There are plenty who are downright malicious, especially when the title of the scariest monster is on the line. Even if most are undead and can't really "die," taking out the competition can still be done in other ways. While the locals won't be unharmed, the dreamwalkers CAN be injured by the more dangerous traps and "pranks," so be wary.

✵ HALLOWEEN COSTUMES ✵

Immediately upon entering the dreamscape, everyone will find themselves in some sort of Halloween themed costume. The only restriction is that it must be some kind of monster or undead theme to fit in with the setting. Ghosts, vampires, demons, zombies, werewolves, Lovecraftian Eldritch horror, etc. Everyone must be able to blend in with the local populace somehow. However, some might find themselves not in just plain costumes, but actually transformed into their disguise. Instead of fake horns and teeth, they are very much real.

Good news, the disguise is only that—a disguise. No one will have sudden personality or any kind of behavioral changes regardless of what they wear or turn into. Suddenly a vampire? No worries, there won't be any desire to suddenly suck the blood out of your friend. Similar to the undead, no craving for brains or other organs. However, it is possible for someone to feel very light urges or have thoughts about these kinds of behavioral traits, but they would be mild at best. This only happens if they eat cursed candy which are easily mixed into the other candy being handed out. So it's quite easy for someone to eat the candy and get a little taste of what they're pretending to be.

One final bonus of the costume is gaining costume themed abilities. Players can have fun with this, but for the most part the abilities are on the sillier side instead of destructive. Some obvious examples are vampires capable of turning into bats or suddenly losing their reflection, weakness to sunlight and so on. Zombies and other undead types capable of losing a limb and reattach it with ease, burrow underground. Weremonsters have the ability to transform into a bipedal form or full animal. Witches and warlocks have additional hexes and curses at their disposal. While some of these can be cool, they can also have some...odd side effects. That bat or werewolf form? Awww look at the adorable little baby bat or puppy. Those curses? Maybe turn their target into a rainbow frog with bubbles bursting from the wand. The skies are the limit and this part is supposed to be more for fun, so have fun with it!

✵ PART I: HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL ✵

The first part of the event will be light, fun Halloween stuff. But there are some suspicious things happening, and we have bonus prompts that are relevant to how the dreamscape will shape things after things end. Those who take on the bonus prompts will be encouraged to submit their threads to a designated form by the end of the event so that we can see how things go. They do not need to be completed but some progress would be good.

Now, onto the prompts! This is just a brief summary and the log will have more fleshed out write-ups, but should be enough to start plotting things. The Halloween Festival portion is set in the town while the Grave Wedding is at the graveyard.

HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL:

• Costume Party. What festival is without a costume party? Mostly for characters to have costume shenanigans and perfect opportunity for those cursed candies to take effect. There is a bonus prompt to gather some special threads which can be carried over and count for the Madame Blackbird quest.
  
  
• Beware the Food. The food is cursed. That is all. Okay, more specifically there are four different effects that will occur once eaten: 1) suffer severe food poisoning; 2) become an undead zombie; 3) turn into a ghastly toad; 4) have a Wicked Witch experience and turn into a puddle of goop to then become a slime monster. Except for the first one, no real harm or pain is experienced during transformations. There is also a bonus prompt to create a remedy for the various effects, but getting the ingredients may be hindered by some kids.
  
  
• Jack-o-Lanterns. A must have for any Halloween event, and there are a few activities related to them: pumpkin carving, pumpkin chunkin, and cursed flaming pumpkins. One special activity is decorating pumpkins for newly arrived skeletons to wear.
  
  
• Trick-or-Treat. Pranks are encouraged and the bigger the better. The children will also be wanting their candy, but if someone doesn't give it to them, they will unleash terrible curses that only a child would think of.
  
  
• Candy Corn Golems. Interesting creatures that range from knee high to ten feet tall. The small ones are more of a nuisance, but the giant ones are capable of imprisoning people in sticky goop. Funny thing about these things is only the characters will be able to fight against them, which will cause suspicion from the locals. So bonus prompt will involve finding the source of these creatures to cast off suspicion.

GRAVE WEDDING:

• Haunted Wedding. At the old church, a wedding is being held! What a wonderful occasion—except for strange red-eyed goblins that keep trying to wreck it. Help stop the party crashes and bonus, find where they're coming from to try and seal it off.
  
  
• Grave Situation. The graves are essentially the undead's homes, but someone has gone around and pulled a massive prank by moving the tombstones and coffins around, so some help in fixing them will be needed. Just beware, some are boobytrapped. Bonus prompt features some of the resident undead behaving more hostile and aggressive, outright attacking with (un)deadly force. They need to be restrained and it would be bad news if anyone is severely harmed or worse—destroyed. Careful examination will reveal a strange slip of paper with what looks like a hex symbol on their heads, and if removed they will pass out but return to normal.
  
  
• Nightmare Graves. When traversing through the graveyard, beware of what's on the tombstones. The writing will mysteriously change to words that will provoke those who read it and send them immediately to a nightmare. It could be something completely random or it could be personal, the severity depending on the player. These nightmares could be passive, in which the dream will be reflected on the tombstone, or they could be interactive and others could dreamwalk into them. In either case, the dreamer's body will be lying in repose in front of the tombstone, which will say something along the lines of "Do not disturb" and have the cryptic words related to the nightmare. As a reminder, when someone dreamwalks into another dream, their entire body converts into dream energy and disappears. Bonus it is possible for someone to start turning into a noctaere the longer they are in the nightmare.
  

✵ PART II: NIGHT FRIGHT ✵

For the second portion of the event, things are going to take a dramatic turn and what happens here will really determine how things will fare after the dreamscape ends. Will everything come out unscathed? Or will the dreamscape collapse into a nightmare? Thread submissions will be vital!

We can't give away the full details of what happens, but here is a basic outline of what to expect:

• Rescue Residents. There will be residents in trouble so they will need help.
  
  
• Nightmare Manifestations. For those who had nightmares in Part I or have yet to experience their nightmares, these can become tangible and cause chaos. They will need to be contained and destroyed or they will morph into noctaere and cause extreme damage to the dreamscape.
  
  
• Suspicious Wraiths. There are wraiths and they are very suspicious. A bonus prompt will hint more at their suspiciousness.
  
  
• Mystery Location. A certain location can be explored and may hold hints as to what the hell is going on. For this prompt, we ask players to sign-up to receive particular hints and clues that they will find. If possible, pair up with one another!

If it's not obvious, something very weird is happening in Part II and while Part I has some clues, these won't become obvious until Part II hits. For those who sign up for the "Mystery Location," we will deliver them when the log goes up.

Character: Alice

Costume: I'm leaning towards letting Alice's costume lean very heavily towards Cheshire inspired horror werecat just because it'd be fun.
Plotting: Alice will likely be helping in combating and restraining along with helping discover clues on what the hell is even going on. finding herself suddenly in some different world is old hat, and having to play a part is something she had gotten used to thanks to time in the Realm of Stories.

Anyone want to help out in gathering chocolate coins from the trick-or-treater ghoulish kids with her?

Extra: She'll also be helping out in the Dreamboard task with Madam Blackbird if anyone wants to do something with that with me.

Character: Soldier: 76
Costume: Honestly probably going to lean towards vampire or werewolf for the old man; basically either something like this, or even if a woof or vampire look a little slasher for the heck of it.
Plotting: Like Alice, he's likely goin to be combat oriented but likely to buckle down harder when something starts to smell like something is screwing around. So he'll be pitching in with hunting down clues and pushing towards finding out exactly what's going on. More so when it comes to the fact things are getting out of hand in a way that endangers all of them.

Outside of the event, 76 is going o be experimenting with the dream honey created by the dream honeybees Steven and he found. Anyone want in on that I'm happy to plan out a little something. Delicious, delicious honeyshine moonshine y'all.

Extra: He'll be a lot more likely to be helping pull out people in distress, so if you want an old super soldier pulling your character out of a tight spot be happy to plan out something. He's also going a bit through some nightmare corruption, so it's likely somewhere he may end up sliding in to his own Noctrae form if not careful. Up for chatter about that, too

Character: Kazuma Asogi

Costume: Frankenstein, Hyde, or Nekomata. I'm leaning on Nekomata so he can be a small grumpy two-tailed cat. Since there's already a potential chance for him to go full Noctaere during this, I'm not planning to make him a naga or anything snake related.
Plotting: All the prompts for the Grave Wedding are great since I would like his Noctaere form to manifest. Fighting golems also sound like a good time, though I'm pretty open to all of these prompts if people had ideas for them too! He may also feel a little mischievous being a nekomata and trick others into eating the wrong things and such. Please pet the cat.

Unrelated to the event: He's interested in visiting the communal garden and help plant stuff. He is going to mistaken the big chickens as actual enemies, if someone wants to make use of that plot idea.

Extra: He'll be interested in helping others and anything that forces him out of his comfort shell would be great for him. If someone would like to get injured when his Noctaere form appears, I can offer that too.

Character: Anastasia Romanova

Costume: I am currently thinking of having her dressed as a Yuki-Onna (a Japanese female yokai of the snow) since this is tied to her Noctaere form but I am also open for any suggestion as well.
Plotting: Anya will be taking on Madame Blackbird’s quest to find fabrics for her store. Since she had been to the Realm of Stories an her RL self did plays with her siblings, she knows how to play a part. In Part 1, she will be helping in finding and distributing candies for the kids and stopping the goblin wedding crashers. In Part 2, she will be helping in rescuing people and investigate clues leading to the mystery location (with some possible reed herrings along the way).

Also I want her to get pestered by Raspuin’s green winged minions from home throughout the event because why not?

Extra: None except Anya never experienced Halloween before, so she is going to be in for a ride.

Character: McGilis Fareed

Costume: Headless Horseman, most likely!! He'll be dressed like a brooding nobleman who ends at the neck-- his poor pretty head will be carried around in his arms separately. For the duration of the dreamshift, he'll also be able to summon a phantom horse--- pony. It's a pony that isn't really big enough for him. He is 200cm tall.

Plotting:
-McGillis is very interesting in getting better clothing options, so he will be doing the Madame Blackbird quest for sure! Come join him!
-He will try and help fend off the goblins, but having to look out for his head makes it a little more difficult to fight, so uh. Maybe he can help build a barricade? Be look-out in odd places with his head?
-I'm very interested in Nightmare Graves, especially in having McGillis enter other people's nightmares and get to know them better that way! If you want McGillis' dream, that is also welcome, but beware that anything that alludes to McGillis' backstory might need content warnings.
-I generally want stupid headlessness shenanigans. Steal his head, I dare you.

Costume: queen of hearts. complete with the full heavy dress and hat. this will cause troubles as he tries to enter buildings, considering he's over 200cm tall and that hat isn't helping. his superpower is that he summons flamingos when he gets annoyed, causing the birds to mob the object of his frustrations. or he turns you into a playing card, take your pick. (effect gone after an hr.)
Plotting:
- madame blackbird! boy wants fashion and clothes
- he'd love to help you decorate, just ignore his costume.

Costume: His classic Halloween Town vampire outfit!

Plotting:

- First dreamscape is Halloween Town/Underworld which is built into Sora so obviously he's going to be dressing up as Vampire and also matching with Roxas and Kor! I want to do some exploring in the Graveyard/Haunted Forests. See some spooks.

- For the festival section I think I want Sora to eat some cursed candies and actually change fully into a vampire for a prompt or two. Also get into some trouble with candy corn golems. Go to a grave wedding??

- In Fright Night for Nightmare Manifestations Sora will dream up nightmare versions of Meow Wow dream eaters which look like this. They'll mostly try to attack people but are harmless besides trying to cause their own versions of chaos like eating all the food around them and rolling into things. Don't let them slobber on you.

Extra: Sora and Tifa made a communal garden! It's about six wooden boxes of community garden space with fairy frogs and singing fish in the pond next to it! Anyone is welcome to use this in prompts and grow the area! Make more garden plots, grow anything and make dreammotion strawraspberry bushes!!

Costume: I'm torn between making him a zombie, or some kind of cat-like monster just so I can have him transform into a panther sometimes. Because I think I'm funny
Plotting: He may help out with the Jack-o-Lanterns, and fighting against the Candy Corn golems. He might also help to restrain some of the more aggressive undead residents, and start getting suspicious of things so he'll also be helping investigate some of the strangeness happening.

Costume: Zidane'll be joining the ranks of werebeasts only pretty much his dreamwalking form since it's a partial way between him normally and Trance. Fluffier, fangier, monkey-er, but with less pink since Tim Burton colors are muted and his clothes more worn and torn like he transformed too. And yes, he turns into a cute lil' monkey.
Plotting:
Halloween Festival: Likely to be involved in Jack-o-Lanterns and Trick-or-Treat, helping with carving, chucking, and pranking so careful!

Grave Wedding: He'll be active here actually in all the prompts. Graves are... kind of important to Zidane for reasons and so are weddings! However, I am interested in him being provoked into a nightmare. No plans for noctaere, but I wouldn't mind if this nightmare manifested in Part II to cause chaos and maybe result in some negative CR towards Zidane if people want that. So if anyone wants to help get him up, and others want to stop and destroy his nightmare in Part II... though, it might come back later.

Character: Rosalia Rossellini

Costume: She'll be taking her Medusa form! She'll be so happy to have her snakes back. Like Zidane, it's close to her dreamwalking form, but she'll still have legs.
Plotting:
Halloween Town: She's here for the Costume Party, Beware the Food, and Candy Corn Golems. She'll be trying to help cure people in the Food prompt (but she doesn't know what she's doing), and then having some trouble with Golems. Her snakes are protective and might turn them to stone... kind of suspicious, she's sorry!

Grave Wedding: She'll help clean up the Graveyard! She doesn't think she could help protect the wedding itself, but she will try (tag out). And as for anything in Part II, I did sign her up for a clue to the Mystery Location, but besides that, Rescuing Residents!

Extra: Haha, let's see how well I do. This month is kind of busy for work...

So in general, I'm going to focus on the event and won't have any open logs, but I'm happy to plot with anyone outside of the event and tag other posts! I'll also toplevel with all three of my boys. I am contemplating the nightmare portion because oh boy. If I do I'd only do it during part I and skip part II. Of course that's just for my toplevels—I'll be game to tag in for pretty much everything.

Costume: I gotta have it, gotta have Eustace's Halloween Vampire outfit :3 He'll just be like "...Yeah okay" LMAO since he's had to wear it a few times for Halloween missions before.
Plotting: It'll be a mixed bag of combat and digging into the more interesting side of the prompts:

• candy corn golems with bonus
  
• haunted wedding bonus (he'll be more interested in finding where the goblins are coming from and stopping them)

• and pretty much all of part II rip me

Eustace is one I'm heavily considering for nightmares, but if I do it might beon the lighthearted/whimsical/sillier side (A WORLD WITHOUT DOGS) or something. Though temptation to do something really tragic is strong hm hm I will ponder. In terms of costume effects, probably just basic standard though I have considered that he would actually be "attracted" towards werewolves LMFAO which is funny considering the two are usually pit against each others. And by "attracted" more impulsive behavior to pet lol. Can't stop his love for doggos. I have also made plans for him to help on a Mystery Location hint! I don't want to take another slot, but if anyone is interested in helping even just partially I'll be game since he'll really be interested in looking into what the hell happened.

Costume: Thinking going full oni samurai, and his, uh, daemon self is going to look a little crazy with the horns. He'll have more traditional ancient samurai armor instead of his usual outfit!
Plotting: Anything combat.

Extra: As fun as it would be to have some malevolence energy fun, Rokurou will have that clamped down. Buuuut if someone would like to experience a dose of it, having him in someone's nightmare might be the best bet. It wouldn't be a strong amount, but it could influence things a little. Just let me know so we can work something out.

Costume: So in FT he was the Frog Prince and I feel like I should continue the tradition and just have him in some kind of frog based costume, lmfao. He'll hate it, so much. Maybe an undead prince thing to make him think "all right I'm normal!" AND THEN HE TURNS INTO A FROG and starts cursing people. ...I started jokingly but the more I write, the more I actually like this idea.
Plotting: While my other two are getting into more combat situations, Alvin will be suffering having more of the fun stuff!

Costume: I'm leaning towards the Frankenstein's Monster because delicious irony.
Plotting:
- With the aforementioned costume and the cursed candy effect, some of her repressed hatred for humanity might shine through, but it shouldn't be too hard to shake her out of it.
- I'm also interested in having her help out with the Madame Blackbird quest!
- She will definitely join the efforts to defend the wedding and/or the graveyard from the troublemakers like a good officer that she is.
- Maybe some nightmare shenanigans, too?

Extra: A lot of stuff is happening irl at the moment, so my tagging might be all over the place, but please bear with me a little longer! Things should probably begin to calm down soon, wheeze.

Character: Kanji Tatsumi

Costume: I think Kanji will be rocking a more feral form of werewolf, black-furred and gold-eyed. It will give him inspiration for his dreamwalking form, which will be a sort of 'beast king' blended with Phantom Thief. It'll be fun. So I imagine his look may spook people or people wanna pet him... do pet him. Please pet him.

Plotting: Kanji will absolutely do what he can to help the people. Slapping goblins, trick-or-treating (FREE CANDY ok?), and will be having a nightmare. So, hey, many opportunities to build CR. Hit me up. He'll join combat parties and engage in celebration because Halloween rules as does spooky stuff! He gets a little creeped out by ghost stories, but not as bad as... some of his friends...

Extra: Awoo. Not illegal if he's dreaming while he awoos.

Character: Ira

Costume: Truthfully, I haven't decided. Suggestions welcome!
Plotting:
So, prior to this, Ira is going to be having a nightmare, which will result in the creation of a Noctarae in the form of a Nightmare Chirithy. It's basically going to be following him around causing mischief and other inconveniences, both before and during the event.
At some point during the second part of the event it's going to morph into its monster form and be a problem. Ideally I'll be getting that started this weekend.

At the event, Ira will be helping with the Candy Corn Golems and fixing the Gravestones.

Extra: Ira's not going to be the best of spirits so hopefully he'll be cheered up a little before things fall apart again.

Plotting:
-Marui is also absolutely getting severe food poisoning and is going to need someone to get the ingredients for the remedy. He will learn nothing.
-He would love to go trick-or-treating as well.
-For Part II, he will probably try helping with rescues.

Costume: Because his canon features fighting tigers, it's only fair that I make him into a were tiger of sorts. So even more ferocious but can be easily stopped by a ball of yarn. And then cue a LOT of cursing.

Plotting: Zhao is not really that familiar with Halloween so this is going to be eye opening. Please play tricks on him, but he will get revenge. He'll be taking on Cursed Food and definitely going to try to make an antidote because someone messed with food and they must pay.

I will definitely be doing Nightmare Graves and anyone wandering into Zhao's dreams should take note that he comes from a very violent background so there's gonna be some rough stuff there.

Probably fixing some gravestones too.

I'm also open into whatever wildcard nonsense you're up for as well.

Costume: Frisk will be dressed as a ghost, which means that they'll gain the power to be able to move through solid objects, along with being a bit see through. They'll be levitating off the ground on top of that.
Plotting: Halloween Festival: I plan to have Frisk participate in most of these! They'll be doing some pumpkin carving - some that are very likely going to resemble some of the monsters that they consider friends at home... I plan to have them try some of the cursed food, as well -- which... I plan to have a prompt of them turning into a toad, woops! On another hand, they can help anyone else who's either turned into a goopy monster or a toad.

Grave Wedding: I want Frisk to try to help fix the grave, and end up in a nightmare as a result. Though for Frisk, I'd prefer for the nightmare to be on the more silly side since their canon tends to be a bit light-hearted for the most part. Maybe it'll involve some smaller monsters from their home appearing temporarily.

Character: Basil

Costume: Basil will be dressed as a nymph! As a result, different kinds of flowers will begin to sprout wherever he walks.
Plotting: Halloween Festival: After the first party, Basil will be staying away from the food... However, he will be helping out with carving pumpkins and passing out candy for the children! He may encounter a flaming pumpkin which will very much make him want to run from the party entirely...

Grave Wedding: Basil won't actively try to help stop the goblins, but he'll be there for moral support regardless. Much like Frisk, I want them to have a nightmare -- which will definitely be a lot more dark than Frisk's. Basil's character history is rather dark and his nightmare will reflect that for those interested.

Character: Alastor

Costume: I need some inspiration because I'm of two minds on this one! On the one hand, Alastor would love some new experiences as something other than a demon but not sure what costume and what powers he might get from it. On the other hand, it'd drive him absolutely bonkers if he didn't change at all but was at least able to get his Pyrokinesis back or maybe being able to magically swap outfits again.
Plotting:

Part 1

• Alastor's nightmare will obviously take place in Hell but on an Execution Day. Specifically right when it starts with the Exterminators descending from Heaven to begin their work. Lots of running.


• Alastor is going to be all about those jack-o-lanterns. SMILE, ALL YOU PUMPKINS, SMILE. Also his knife skills are scary good for a reason.


• Definitely nightmare graves. Thinking of him almost turning into a noctaere, maybe getting some hints of his noctaere full demon form. Still debating.

Part 2

• Given the direction I want him to take in Reverein, he's gonna be dealing with nightmare manifestations. Also expect to see one Executioner.


• Mystery location! Let's split up, gang!

Costume: NGL, kinda tempted to go with a goblin-ish theme if not basically turning Azmuth into an Asura from Guild Wars. Inspired by the candy corn golems, honestly. The costume will give him quite a bit more height (at least he'll reach human waists!) plus he'll learn the racial trait "Pain Inverter" which allows him to apply the confusion status effect to enemies around him for five seconds along with reducing damage on himself from various conditions like poison or bleeding for five seconds. It's not much but it might be the difference between life or death.
Plotting:

Part 1

• Azmuth is going to have his first major nightmare in Reverein. It'll be him as a young Galvan gazing upon the destruction of the Incursean homeworld. Only in his nightmare, none of the Incurseans got away.


• Definitely going to investigate those candy corn golems. Not only for Guild Wars lulz but also because how do they work?


• Not sure but I might have him help with the defense in the Haunted Wedding. It'd be the first time he ever creates a shield with dreamotion energy.

Part 2
He's gonna be helping rescue the residents. If he didn't use the dreamotion energy shield for the first time during the haunted wedding, it'll definitely happen here. He's not a pacifist but he doesn't have the equipment for proper combat.

Not sure what if anything will manifest from his nightmare.

Plotting: I'm more interested in the nightmare portion of the event. One thing is having Ventus dream up of Heartless considering the time he has been spending in the Realm of Darkness. No...super big plans with nightmare, but it's something that popped in my mind.

As for Dream Board tasks, I'm up for all 3 to be honest. This plotting sucks and I'm sorry lol

Costume: I have so many good choices... but I'm leaning towards a witch/diva look... Or I may turn him into a werekitten for LOLz.

Plotting: Tenn will be prioritizing investigations because of what he learned on the warning network post. Overall, he's going to be suspicious and uncomfortable in this setting surrounded by so much symbolism of death... but Tenn is a professional actor, so he'll blend in with his talents as best as he can! You may find him singing, dancing, and embracing the musical aspects of the setting. (And in the process, discovering a little more about his new magical skills. I’d like for him to find that his songs can affect both emotions and the environment.) I will probably keep Part I light and save the spooky stuff for Part II.

Costume: I am thinking of giving him either a cute, magical girl-esque witch outfit, or like. A giant, simple dragon onesie. He has these outfits canonically.

Plotting: Ramuda is down for clothing quest, but mostly because he kind of wants to hoard some of those materials for himself LMAO. He wants to open up his own clothing shop here so. Y'know. He'll help out!

Ramuda, Gentaro, and Dice will also be doing a community art mural for the Spookify the Town quest! Basically they'll have a giant board (with a very obnoxiously yellow backdrop, I am sorry) and invite anyone and everyone to paint/draw/etc. on it! They'll ask that it's Halloween-themed, but live your best life, do w/e you want. The spray paint will also be magical and come with fun effects that people can play around with!

Finally, Ramuda's joining the mystery location shenanigans...hopefully he won't end up chickening out...........

Costume: I've been playing around with the idea of making Yama a werewolf. Awoooo.... Subject to change!

Plotting: I don't have real solid plans for Yama, but I want to give him a break after he suffered so much in the intro log.......! So he'll be chilling at the festival, avoiding the food this time if he can help it -- but he won't be above playing little pranks to give the people he knows some spooks.

I would like him to actually try to figure out the basics of his dreamotion abilities during the Nightmare half of it. He's no combatant so he's definitely gonna need a little help.

Costume: Apparently vampire!Gino is a thing so yeah he's going to be a vampire. Complete with cape in lieu of his dramatic trench coat. Someone will need to wrangle him into costume though, or tell him that it's compulsory to show up in costume, laughs. I'm thinking of giving him the weakness to sunlight and losing his reflection power nerf only because he'd be annoyed by it, but also he's used to operating more at night anyway so that shouldn't affect him too much.

Plotting: Couple of ideas?? I'm probably going to top level this month on the event log but some things I have in mind are:

- Quests! I'm particularly interested in the Witches by Moonlight prompt because Gino can't say no when asked for help, so let's dissolve some witches-- if anyone also needs an extra pair of eyes for Madame Blackbird please feel free to ask Gino to join in also! He won't say no to new clothes, even if he's the kind of dude who shows up to a fight in a three piece suit.......

- I'm more interested in the Grave Wedding prompts over the Halloween party prompts, so he'll probably be volunteering to help move the tombstones back! Also, if you want to visit Gino's nightmares, please... let me know........ laugh track in that he was the canon punching bag for most of Psycho-Pass so some of his nightmares are not going to be pretty.

- I've put Gino down for receiving a location clue so if anyone wants to join him, please feel free!! Things I'm also interested in doing - rescuing residents, nightmare containment (especially since he'll be experiencing nightmares in Part One).

Extra: Iiiiii have not thought of Gino's dreamotion powers yet and I'm contemplating on his Noctaere form unlocking during this event but still! considering!

Character: Zelda

Costume: Zelda's costume is going to be Frankenstein's monster/Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. It's thematically pretty fitting for her, since her character arc in Breath of the Wild really centers on dealing with what she's supposed to be versus what she wants to be.

I'm definitely gonna play with Sally's whole "limbs easily detachable" thing. Zelda could lose or damage them somehow and need to replace them with her limbs or whatever other limbs she can find. Basically she would have to rebuild herself with whatever parts are available, even if they don't fit right. Instead of dead leaves or decayed guts, Zelda's body will be filled with soil, decayed plant matter (mostly from flowers), and seeds.

Plotting: - Zelda will definitely be at the costume party. She might be missing limbs and looking for replacements or trying to stitch herself back together. This could get a lot more frustrating if she eats the cursed candies. Bonus: She's very interested in assisting with the Madame Blackbird quest. I'm already planning for her and Alice to go looking for the spider threads, but I'm interested in potentially doing other stuff with this quest too.

- Zelda most likely won't fall victim to the beware the food food. She's already become pretty distrustful of the food around here. But she'll for sure be involved in the bonus of helping create a remedy. Any excuse to do science and Zelda is gonna be all over it.

- I wanna do something with her and the Jack-o-Lanterns just because she had an ordeal with the turning into pumpkins scenario on the August TDM and it would be hilarious/cathartic for her to carve one.

-Since she's going to be an undead, I want to do something with grave situation. No ideas yet, but yeah.

-I'm tossing around the possibility of doing a nightmare for Zelda, but haven't quite settled on it. (None of my dream ideas for her have quite solidified into something I could actually write lol.) I might be more inclined to have her dreamwalking in someone else's nightmare instead.

Extra: If you're doing a mad scientist themed costume for your character or something along those lines, I'd be quite interested in doing a thing.

Costume: I was going to go werewolf but then decided that was a bit too obvious an option for Momo, so I'm currently thinking demon since that ties into similar personal issues for him regarding his previous tendency to characterise his bad traits as monstrous (and also some choice backstory content involving Momo's willingness to court shitty people to protect his loved ones being described as "praying to angels while consorting with demons"). Also currently thinking he might be one of the unlucky ones who actually transforms into their "disguise", because clearly I need to run Normie World Man through the wringer even more.
Plotting: So for the Dream Board, I'm currently thinking:
-Madame Blackbird for sure, because Momo is not-so-secretly a fashionista (or sometimes just embraces big fashion disaster energy). If the boutique gets rolling he might even join as a shop assistant for a little while, because he's definitely good at boosting people's confidence and helping them find things to suit them. I'll also probably have him do the bonus prompt that ties into the event for this too.
-Witches by Moonlight. Momo was having enough of an issue with the "living" candy, so melting witches is going to be an Adventure, though ultimately he'll probably just decide they shouldn't have been assholes if they had that obvious a weakness (or carried extremely liquidy paint, for that matter).

For the event:
-Momo will be investigating the overall "wtf is going on angle", and I've thrown him in for a mystery location sign-up, so he can assist in other investigations and so on and so forth too.
-He'll definitely peek around the festival, but given what happened at the banquet, he'll probably be more cautious about accepting food and avoiding pranks. So he can try to give people a hand if they get caught up in them...or he can potentially run foul of a curse or golem instead and need someone with more experience dealing with supernatural shenanigans.
-Momo is a big romantic so he'll definitely peek at the wedding, and try to stop the goblins from ruining it because something something how dare you obstruct true love. I am definitely also considering doing something with the nightmare graves, but I'm still thinking because most of the things in canon Momo would have nightmares about strike me as being a bit too...personal/small-scale for the bit about them being personified in the second half of the event (by that I mean the personification would be something like. individual person who tried to do some Real Nasty Shit to Momo and Yuki and succeeded in some others), but there's always the option of monsterising the subject of the nightmare or something.
-For part 2, he's probably going to be trying to help as much as he can everywhere, but since he's doing the mystery location already I might leave off on the suspicious wraiths so he's not doing two "bonus" type things. He'll definitely be trying to help both the locals and people dealing with their nightmares, so he's going to be a bit run off his feet from his helpfulness, but this is why it's good to have mega stamina.
