i'm canonblind but from your comment above i can see they have a lot in common... hehe. also! i'm fine with mind reading on zelda, she may not enjoy but anything for a delicious thread or three on my end :3
I have played Skyword Sword but.... my memory is bad so I've forgotten a lot hahaha, we can be blind-ish together :D
But yes!! They have a lot in common!! It would be really fun to explore both of them relaxing from their responsibilities and just having fun!
Nahida tends to use mind reading more as a way for telepathy to work, since she has to read people's minds to hear their replies, but gameplay does indicate it works just like regular mind reading. So it'll probably only pop up when Zelda's unable to communicate with her voice or something, but again, will check in with you if such a situation pops up!!
this is a great time to shill nintendo's latest in a line of 60 dollar remasters of zelda games for the low low price of 0% off! i actually ended up enjoying the motion controls this time!

I just quickly canon reviewed SS and boy. It's actually really interesting how Zelda and Nahida's backgrounds parallel and diverge haha. Zelda spent the course of the game remembering her past incarnation as Hylia, right?
Spoilers for Sumeru Archon Quest Nahida also has a predecessor named Rukkhadevata, who created Nahida right before her death. Rukkhadevata considers Nahida to be her in the next samsara, aka her next incarnation. They are not actually the same people though.
BUT what makes this interesting is that over the course of the game we find out that to rid the land of corruption, Rukkhadevata's existence has to be deleted from the world tree, because she became corrupted. So Nahida does delete her, and history is rewritten such that now the entire world believes Nahida never had a predecessor, she was the original all along. Nahida believes this too, and thinks she forgot everything and lost all the power she had before the calamity (which was what killed Rukkhadevata).
SORRY FOR CANON LORE DUMP I just think??? the potential for their interactions would be really interesting based on all this
yes, essentially! skyward sword puts this particular zelda in the role of a traditional miko rather than a princess so a lot of her narrative deals with being a vessel for divinity and all that entails, considering hylia's divine morals are not very kindly to mortals lmao
that is .. extremely interesting 🤔 nahida, do you have zelda inspo going on here... less jokingly, the cycle of samsara is a big inspiration when it came to skyward sword's dungeons, so there's a lot of interesting connections to be made here. maybe it's time for nahida to go praying in front of the goddess statues WHO KNOWS......
jokes aside i would love to explore this at some point if you're interested in our cr working to that!! i think it'd be a lot of fun and help with one of my major goals with zelly ;w;

tbh actually yes, Genshin takes huge inspiration from LoZ, especially for the country Nahida leads. We even have our own Koroks!!
I was originally thinking it might be difficult because Nahida forgot the true version of her past but then I realized... This isn't her world, so it's entirely possible to somehow have the true version of her past appear as some kind of dream or something. And boy if Nahida remembers, that's gonna be a whole can of worms being opened and I'd love to explore it with Zelda
