✵ CR MEME: JULY 2022 ✵

Welcome to Songerein's CR Meme! A place where players can dump info on their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. We have a handy dandy form so go forth, tell us about yourself and your characters, and start plotting! You can refer to the Mod Announcement for plotting ideas for the month and beyond! Continuing or using things from the recent TDM.

Canon: Disc II - Post the destruction of Burmecia and Cleyra

About:
A military general with a very hard outside and a much softer inside. Beatrix is a frustrating individual to attempt to get to know, but maybe, just maybe she's worth the payoff. She's growing a little in Songerein, but is still largely attached to her comforts of professionalism. She tends to be a little too obsessed with self-image, reputation, and not exposing vulnerabilities, weakness, or much in the emotive category. She does, however, feel things very deeply.

Abilities:
- Beatrix is a phenomenal sword user, having been put in her position when she was just seventeen.
- Back home she also has access to some rather powerful white magic, which she can kind of access on the dreamotion front. It just doesn't really work the same way and she's not as good with it.
- Much of her dreamotion energy takes the form of ice as a result of her rather cold demeanour.

Dreamwalker Form: I've still never done anything with this, oops.

Plans:
► Whilst I am charmed by some quest ideas, I told myself I wasn't going to make catch-alls this month because I did last month. However, I've done this before and gone back on it, so I could be convinced if there's interest.
► Twin moon viewing. Back home, she's aware there was a case of a planet being within another planet and the twin moons will likely make her think of this.
► She will absolutely be at the beach event with some help of likely some very lovely ladies who will be helping her dress in just the right suit. (I have only assumed that Oriphi too, will offer some of her expertise.)
► I'm tempted to play around with some lunar gardens. Beatrix will be curious if she can use the moon drops as assistance for this barrier idea she's trying to construct.
► Beatrix is holding onto some regain baubles. I have to go back in time and check to see how many she has. (I think she has two?) But since she doesn't have anything from home that she wants, she'd like to give them to people who do need them. (Feel free to request one.)
► Something-something-something seagulls...

CR Dreams:
► Beatrix has amazing CR with some amazing characters, but she can always use more.
► Sparring partners, people who want to continue to help knock Beatrix off of her self-claimed pedestal or something, and people who genuinely just want to get to know her and are intrigued by her are all welcome.
► I love positive, negative, and all CR in-between.
► Did you know Beatrix has committed a bunch of war crimes back home? It's a lot of the reason she keeps people at a distance in this new world. A couple of people are aware of what she's done, but I still dream of a time in which that may become public knowledge and potentially change the opinions of others regarding her person.
► Continuing to be in the works is the creation of a protective barrier for the town proper, which Beatrix has had several ideas presented to her that she's currently investigating. If you have more, please feel to bring them forward. Additionally, Kisara made mention of natural disasters that could possibly plague the area and now Beatrix has become even more ambitious and would like to create an all-encompassing barrier that would ward against those sorts of things as well.
► Also on the continued path is Beatrix's desire to form an officially established protective guard, offering escort to those who may need it, providing a defence against outside threats, and in general keeping things in order and attempting to alleviate crime. Beatrix has hesitated to make any motions to lead this herself, though feels she would be the obvious choice for such a role. She values and understands the need to gain the trust of those around her, and wants a future council's blessing to instate just such a thing.

Sorry I ended up not apping Kuja, by the way, but you seem pretty rad, in my opinion, and I'd love to bug you sometime, if you don't mind someone who can empathize maybe a little too much with committing atrocities in the name of mad despotic politicians.

I'm simply delighted to see you here. Doesn't matter with whom!

I'm a bit blind to P5R (though I'll be playing it in a few more weeks or so, I think), and I'm not sure if that's the canon you're taking him from or not. What I saw of him in P5 itself was definitely intriguing and I liked him a lot as a character, so I think he and Beatrix would have quite a few things in common and would work together well.

Akechi is from the ending of Royal. I'll try to tag spoilers where they pop up, unless you don't mind!

I admit that I've been trying to avoid them, so if you don't mind hiding them from me for just a bit until I've gotten through P5R that would be great!

I see the mention of a future council and begin to sweat nervously, fdskljsdf. I still think it would be a nice thing for Songerein to have, or at least have a meeting about, but I don't have the energy OOCly to spearhead such a thing so I'll just weep.

Seriously, there's no expiration on it. If it never happens, it never happens. It isn't something you should feel locked into.

I feel bad now, though, because I didn't mean to cause such a reaction.

Oh my gosh, no, I'm joking for the most part! Please don't feel bad!

I do genuinely feel a little conflicted that I don't have the time/energy for it, but maybe we can get someone else to put up a town meeting log and see if that gets the ball rolling for characters talking among themselves about it?

If time is an issue in putting something like that, I don't see why you and I can't bash our heads together and I can post something on that behalf for inhabitants to be able to discuss amongst themselves.

Maybe it could be a public forum of discussion, or something akin to. I don't think it'd necessarily need to require any intense running if it's just a sharing of opinions or insight.

Yujin and Beatrix have already been publicly open about what they were presenting for consideration, so I don't feel a direct need for either of them to repeat that. I'm sure there's a way we can do this without it being exhaustive or taxing being so early on in this idea.

Yes yes, I think once the post is up and we encourage a whole lot of mingling, it'll basically just run itself. It's just a matter of thinking up a 'body' for the post, with topics to discuss and... Probably some additional aesthetic flavoring like 'there is a table with drinks for everybody'. Can't have a town meeting without everyone holding onto a cup of coffee, right?

But on an OOC level we might need to look into what the requirements are for joining, what the council can or cannot do on an IC level, and how much it will do. Which can be tweaked based on what comes out of the town meeting, of course.

I'm going to hit you up in PM this week, sometime today or tomorrow and see about hashing up some plans about what you've listed here and when we have all of the details figured out, I'll write up a post. No rush or hurry on this, I don't think, so I don't want you to feel pressured or anything like that. It's just a cool idea and I think it could provide some really interesting interactions for not just Yujin and Beatrix (with one another, with others), but with the rest of Songerein as well.

Ooh, that's fine! You can also hit me up on Discord, or with a private plurk, if that leads to easier chatting. I'm very flexible! And don't worry, I'm not feeling pressured, I've just been a little scatterbrained lately. As one occasionally does. But this is definitely worth pursuing!

Character: Nier | heseesonlyher
Canon: Post Ending D

About:
An old man with a daughter whom he loves very, very much. Nier is an incredibly sacrificing man and spends most of his canon time doing things for the benefit of other people. He could be considered a bit meddlesome, which wouldn't be entirely inaccurate. He seems incredibly gruff and serrated and in some ways, he is, but he's a deeply caring man with an interest in found family and connection with others. In Songerein, he's had the privilege of experiencing life again and this has allowed him to be a far happier person than he normally would be, though it's oft with a bittersweet note.

Abilities:
- Nier is... also good with one-handed and two-handed swords, and polearms. He came to Songerein with a two-handed sword and that seems to be his favourite weapon to use.
- His dreamotion isn't great and he hasn't used it enough to determine if it involves a certain element or not. He can make flowers bloom, though. (THANKS, HILDA.)

Dreamwalker Form: No. Nothing here either.

Plans:
► Nier will also be at the beach event. I can't see him getting into a swimsuit, though, so it seems wiser to assume he'll be that guy in his weird leather and chain garb.
► He's planning to form a friendship with the Lunar cave dwarfs in hopes of getting access to the crystals. He has a thought to take any he obtains to a smithy in hopes of crafting it into protective armour or weapons.
► There's new herbs and flowers! Nier will be very interested in exploring the new climes available to everyone to see what kinds of goodies he can find.
► Who's good at moving blocks? This guy. As such, he'll be very willing to lend a hand to anyone partaking in the Ice Cream Crush quest.
► He would like to help Build-a-Boat. He's never had the opportunity to go on one (at least, none that aren't unimpressive in size), but has wanted to.
► THIS MAN LOVES TO FISH. So something, something, something about Seafood Dining here.

CR Dreams:
► Nier is terrifically easy to get along with and generally gets along with everyone. He's eager to help, believes in bartering and trade, and much of the time doing things for unconditional reasons.
► He made an agreement with Kainé at some point that he wanted to grow a whole field of Lunar Tear flowers for her. Now seems like a great time to start doing that...
► He still struggles a lot with the idea of 'existence' and is continuing to spend a good deal of his time reflecting on actions he took back home, especially those involving his daughter. He has a lot of regrets about things he could have done, should have done, would have done if he'd had more time, and I continue to want him to explore this and find ways to better himself as a person.
► Please let him meddle in your affairs and offer to help when you really don't want him to, because in his canon it seems like most people just enthusiastically accepted his help. (Or told him to help, etc etc.)
► Maybe help this big guy relax because he seems to like being on the go-go-go constantly.
