✵ CR MEME: JULY 2022 ✵
Welcome to Songerein's CR Meme! A place where players can dump info on their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. We have a handy dandy form so go forth, tell us about yourself and your characters, and start plotting! You can refer to the Mod Announcement for plotting ideas for the month and beyond! Continuing or using things from the recent TDM.
If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

About: Briefly talk about the character. Can include background info or just stick with personality traits—whatever will be most useful to help other players learn about them!

Dreamwalker Form: Does the character have a cool, unique form when dreamwalking or do they look like themselves? Do you change it up depending on the dream?
Plans: Any ideas or plans you'd like to do with your character? This could be short term, such as what items from the Dream Board or TDM, or long term.
CR Dreams: What kind of CR do you wish to have? Include what you can offer with your character as well.

Character: Merisia Thenel |
Canon: Shortly after the Waking Sands incident + Emp CRAU
About: An arcanist with a prickly outside but a soft and caring inside. Slow to trust others and quick to sass them as well, but generally well-meaning. Has a small vigilante streak and is still a thief at heart, so she's basically Robin Hood but grumpier when she's in the mood for a bit of pickpocketing or swiping. Also possesses the Echo, an ability which effectively lets her see the memories of others. She also comes with a bonus Carbuncle, a glowing fluffy squirrel-dog summon who is not only much friendlier than his summoner, but he also comes in both wind and earth elemental flavors! (Please do not eat him though)
Abilities: Merisia is an Arcanist (from the Heavensward era so she's got the old DoT kit), which basically means she's a mage that casts spells with geometry. Most of her spells focus on whittling down her target bit by bit. She also has a healing spell, though it's kind of weak compared to someone who actually specializes in healing.
- Her most notable spell involves summoning Carbuncle, who comes in two flavors: Emerald (wind), and Topaz (earth), though she's made a few more with help from dreamotion. Carbuncle has a very keen nose and can track scents, but he if he strays too far from Merisia he'll dissipate.
- On the more mundane side, Merisia is a fairly good seamstress and has keen hearing...although her eyesight isn't the best. She sees a little better in the dark than in broad daylight, but even then she has to squint to read.
- Merisia also possesses the Echo, which tl;dr allows her to see the memories of others. At literally any moment. Usually conveniently timed. She is NOT a fan of this AT ALL but it makes for interesting plots and threads. It's something I prefer to use sparingly, given how significant and intrusive the effect can be.
- As far as dreamotion goes, she's working on finding ways to use it to mimick thaumaturgy, her old style of magic. She's also using it to create new variants of Carbuncle as well as augment her existing magic with extra properties.
Dreamwalker Form: Usually, she's either a normal-sized Carbuncle or a mount-sized Carbuncle. She's not super happy about it, but she's gotten used to it. No, you may not pet her.
Unless you're a close friend, then maybe.Plans: She's still convinced that emotion-based magic, or the fact that normal magic can be altered by emotion in any way, just isn't a thing back home. For now. She's also going to be very wary of the Crystal Moon, given the calamity she went through back home. I'm also always open to her developing new Carbuncles with help from CR, and if a thread allows, Echo shenanigans are also always on the table c:
As for quests:
- Ice Cream Crush - Merisia isn't physically very strong and the sound of reshaping/repackaging things isn't up her alley either. However, she has a huge sweet tooth and can very easily be bribed.
- Choya Chop - Merisia is going to expect cactaurs. She is not going to get cactaurs. There's no way this will end well.
CR Dreams: Merisia can easily be the grumpy big sister friend if you let her. Just don't call her that; she has an image to maintain, after all!
And she WILL fail to maintain it!Merisia tends to be a bit slow-burn with friendships, depending on the person, but once you've won her over she can be a loyal (albeit a little protective) friend. If there's anything she learned from her previous world, it's that maybe her insistence that she always be alone was a little off the mark.Etc.:
