OH MAN OH MAN it goes back to when they were both in isle of avalon and at first Sheila was playing Lightning and I was like ey Sheila 👀 what if we shipped 👀👀 and she was like 👀👀👀👀 but she ended up switching lightning with Tifa and I was like SO SHEILA— and since the Cloud there was already in a different ship I was like look Eustace is like Cloud but 1000000% better and she was like OMG and so we tested out their CR with some threads and they really did end up having a great and interesting dynamic. Their first meeting there Tifa thought Eustace was trying to pick her up and he was like ???? No???? And then they just had a lot of good threads and he was there for her as she as going through sad Cloud stuff so nice development!!
But then in Song, we were still in Avalon at the time, and Tifa had memories before they were in a relationship but I had Eustace without. Didn't matter they got feelings anyway because we were mean and kind of put them through the gauntlet of dramatic stuff. Specifically Eustace kept getting into bad situations LMFAO
Now they both have their avalon memories back but this was after they were pretty much together but it did spur the "okay so we've been through the whole other world before and by luck we're another one" but that tension of THIS COULD BE OUR ONLY CHANCE really kind of intensified things.
Jokes on them they are in another game but without memories and Eustace is more dumb about things cos we are deliberately trying to take things slower and more natural there LMFAO.
BUT YEAH that's the really quick and dirty rundown lmaokdjdjd tldr they've been through a lot of emotional stuff together, Eustace was there for Tifa for a lot of things that Cloud wasn't, Tifa helped bring Eustace out even further and soften him up, and well /gestures at the two of them neither of them are blind—
