About: Ryu is a dragon/Endless/god who has only appeared three or so months ago in canon and has had a lot of people around him who have been helping him with his problems and he with theirs. He cares about humanity deeply (and they come in all sorts of furry-adjacent types where he's from) and always wants to help. He's a little down right now still after coming back from a canon update and seeing some kind of awful things. Still, he's eager to help and eager to talk to people. Sorry about his typos.
Abilities: He's got a few spells - most notably a combo that decreases fire resistance and then... sets someone/something on fire. He can also transform into a half-dragon state. He only goes full dragon in his most powerful attacks which he can't use very often. He also has an eye that lets him tame animals easier as well as sense other dragons/Endless/powerful godlike creatures around him.
PLANS General: He's going to be taking advantage of the quiet and continuing to write down his adventures. He might ask on the journal for someone to help him spell things better. (He'd ask Joshua, but he already asks a lot of Joshua!) Dream Board: He might help the baby animals... he's good with those! Event: Also throwing Ryu into the mirror - he's going to slowly start acting and looking like Fou-Lu (his other half). He doesn't have a lot of memories to distort but those that he does have it'll be interesting to change...

Character: Tobias | notachickenhawk Canon: Animorphs - end of book 43
About: Totally a normal bird. ... Okay no, Tobias is a pretty depressed teenager stuck in the body of a hawk. He can change back to human, but only for about two hours each time. He's got a lot of Issues and would like to talk about none of them, thanks. He's fighting an alien invasion with a few other teenagers and very little outside help, and they have to be secret about it.
Abilities: He can morph into anything he can touch and acquire their DNA. (How does that work? Shh don't ask questions.) Right now he's capped at five morphs but he can get them back later. He's also probably going to pick up a few additional ones from the creatures around Reverein and the rest of the world. He doesn't normally acquire/morph sentient beings without their permission, though!
PLANS General: Getting him to come out of his shell and talk to people! He's very insular and will probably stick close to Rachel for a while. He's very scared of letting anyone else in, though this place has a way of doing that... Event: Not throwing him into the mirror! I'm going to try to tag around with him, but he'll be getting glimpses of the future from mirrors. Or maybe the past. Who wants to see some trauma~?
CR Dreams: People to get him out of his shell, nerdy folks, other warriors. People who have traumatic pasts that they've risen above because he is still very much held by his. Also people who might be able to help him develop marketable skills! He doesn't need to buy much but he'd like to have stuff on hand.
Six months in, and Joshua is about 90% at his regular magic capacity (fire spells, healing, and barriers). He’s doing well with fatigue, too.
His sword work is slowly moving along. He can hold his own now, but he also hasn’t really used his sword in a ‘real’ fight yet
He’s semi-primed for a second time (albeit in a dream environment) and it went better than the first. Now that he’s comfortable with using the dreamotion version of his regular magic, he wants to chip away at mastering semi-priming.

Long term:
Joshua is interested in the going-ons of Orkili and the nostilium related events (that one powerful noctaere that has been causing problems is quickly becoming his personal white whale)
Related to the above, he’s finally receiving treatment for the symptoms of his accidental noctaere snacking, but it’s slow. He’s stabilized for now, but this will likely change in the future.
He’s been compiling his notes into a journal/book. He has a lot of personal thoughts in there that he’ll be editing before he shares them. He’ll be working with Hiyori on this project as well as a project chronicling the monthly events in Song.
Because he’s been traveling between Reverein and Orkili so often, I’m hoping to get him settled as a potential ambassador figure (it’s mostly a thought I’ve played around with on and off that needs some fleshing out).

These are all very tentative plans! Depending on what’s going on in general, I may not have Joshua participating too much (if at all) in the event.
If I have Joshua get thrown into the mirror world, chances are good that his past fragment will be him as a kid. Because those icons need to be put to more use!

As for what Josh can offer, even though his big brother has arrived, he’s still open to being a big bro himself to others. Whether it be as a mentor, confidant, research buddy, etc. If you need a character for your character to nerd out with, he’s your guy.

Character: Alastor | lonelysmiles Canon:Hazbin Hotel, right after Season 1 ended with the group entering the newly-rebuilt Hazbin Hotel About: Alastor is a demon from literal Hell. In life he was a radio broadcaster and serial killer with a penchant for cannibalism. He died and went to Hell, eliminating all of the old Overlords upon arrival. He himself then decided to just let others take the territory and do whatever entertained him...only after nine decades he's gotten pretty bored of Hell.
He likes to screw with people and takes delight in others' suffering. However, he has a warped moral compass that compels him to protect the weak. He's taken to traveling to various people's nightmares with the idea of being entertained. He'll step in when he thinks it's not being fun anymore.
During the two years he’s been in Reverein, he’s grown to genuinely love the place. As a result, if something threatens the town, he’ll step up with none of the usual pretext. He’ll still be acting like this is all grand fun (and it is!) but he’ll risk his existence to keep his personal Eden safe.
After his canon update, he can also summon tentacles from his back like he can in Hell. However unlike in Hell, this causes him pain so he tries not to use that trick more than he has to.
Plans: General Plans Since arriving with the first group, Alastor has been slowly working his way towards becoming a guardian though he'll never admit to such a position. He likes hopping from nightmare to nightmare to witness all the fun forms of torment but if someone is weak, he'll step in due to his moral code. He can't be relied upon to save others, but as time went on and he started to care more, he could at least be counted on to pull people out of jams under the pretense that he thought the challenge might be entertaining.
In recent months, he’s started really stepping up, risking existence to keep Reverein as a whole safe and having a grand time doing it. He’s put a lot of work into this town including adding a radio studio where anyone can broadcast and he intends to see it continue.
However, mid-February Alastor took a week-long nap to get caught up on the happenings in Hell. Amazingly enough, his development there ran very similarly including risking existence to help those he came to care for. However, in Hell he wasn’t as successful, losing both Sir Pentious and Dazzle because he wasn’t strong enough to protect them by holding back Adam just a little longer. He’s honestly really shaken beneath that smile. In Reverein, he’s safe from the Deal he made back in Hell but he’s starting to feel the pressure even in this dream world since he’s even weaker here than he is in Hell. He’s started really focusing on a way to get out of that Deal to, as he puts it, “unclip [his] wings” but isn’t willing to tell anyone that such a thing even exists. He’d been content with the limits of his Deal up until now, but if he were running everything, he would never have to lose someone again from not being strong enough either here in Reverein or back in Hell.
Honestly, he always needs more friends. Being the boogeyman of Hell means that he doesn't get much socializing in. Arguably one reason he bargains in souls is to collect people who won't leave him. Despite his time in Reverein, he's still largely used to having people fleeing before he can even finish saying "hello". Redemption is a big theme in Hazbin Hotel but it's doubtful that Charlie's more idealistic measures would really work for him. He's lonely but his social skills are incredibly rusty.
Fair warning though: Alastor picks favorites but he's a pretty amiable (if kind of terrifying) person all around. Once he's decided you're one of his favorites, he'll invade your personal space every opportunity he gets though he won't let you touch him unless it's on his terms. So be prepared to be pulled in for random side-hugs, song-and-dance numbers, and other such nonsense.
Month-Specific Plans Hellish New Arrivals There's at least one denizen from Alastor's Hell that arrived that he actually knows right out the gate for once, so he'll be showing the newbie the delights of their little shared dream world. Also a good place to get booze.
And if that other guy got in, Alastor might help. Under protest.
Possible Cat Adoption Alastor is debating asking to adopt one of the Wild Harvest's new kitties because his kitty is a big old sourpuss. He doesn't wanna jinx his new living situation with Madhuri, but he has a habit of losing roommates. Might be good to have a pet there just in case. Also needs the purring to help with trauma from home yaaaaay.
Mirror World Alastor will be one of the people sucked into the Mirror World which means Hell will be warped even farther. While Alastor's broadcasts in reality will be normal, those in this even more twisted realm will hear a broadcast of screams.
Still working out the details, but say "hello" to the version of Alastor most people in Hell are terrified of.
Dream Board Plans Yin and Yang or Personal Raincloud Still debating the details, but I feel like Alastor is going to struggle with this one. Particularly given recent memories in Hell with Adam and the Exorcists. He faced the same test he faced in Reverein with Orkili's reactor nearly going Nightmare Chernobyl, but he failed in Hell where he succeeded in Reverein. "I got so lucky in Orkili. What if next time I'm not strong enough? I'm weaker here than I am even in bound by my Deal in Hell..."
Regardless of if it's calming down the fish or trying to make the sun come out over his head, he's not going to say what's bothering him. Try to blow it off like it's no big deal.
After all, a smile is a tool, my dear. It inspires your friends, keeps your enemies guessing, and ensures that, no matter what comes your way, you're the one in control.
She's still dishonest, paranoid, bitter, spiteful, aggressive, angry, unstable, wildly dangerous, and prone to violence, but she's getting- she's- look, there's progress, okay?
Abilities: She's very clever, very capable in both armed and unarmed combat, very good at lying and manipulating people. Fortunately, she does less of those lately.
She's also one of the most talented firebenders in the world.
PLANS General: She's a work in progress, okay. It's... it's slow progress. Event: Azula is 100% going to be in the mirror world having messed up little mirror experiences, because we have fun here in Songerein dot Dreamwidth dot Org.
She's gonna have to contend with the version of herself that went crazy on coronation day. Please help her not kill herself, the self-loathing is strong here. The mirror world will also start messing with her- she's going to become steadily more childlike as time goes on, first in behavior- and then in appearance. What she's manifesting isn't exactly her childhood self, though, it's something a little more recent to her.
CR Dreams: Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm hoping she can start, like. Getting more positive interactions with people she alienated... but alienating new people is also 100% on the table, always.

Rachel used to be a pretty typical SoCal 90s kid. Early teens, good grades but hated school, loved shopping, aspiring gymnast, maybe a little more adventurous than was strictly good for her. Good parents, despite the split.
Then the friggin' alien brainslugs happened. The school performance dropped off, which is just as well because a bunch of the school was controlled by alien brainslugs. And suddenly, her, four other kids, and an alien who turns out to also be a kid are all that stands between the Earth and complete subjugation.
Did you know that being a child soldier is extremely traumatic? Especially when you realize you're starting to enjoy it? And have a hard time turning it off? And increasingly detaching from all of your friends, save for your boyfriend, who is- checks notes- a bird?
It's fine. You don't have to process your undiagnosed PTSD when you're dead, riiiight?
Abilities: Rachel's smart (albeit too reckless and impatient to apply it well sometimes) and in good shape (she was an aspiring professional gymnast even before the war), but none of that is what you're here about.
Thanks to alien technology, Rachel was given the ability to, by touching an animal for a few seconds, "acquire" their DNA and later turn into a perfect copy of that animal. She can't access all her morphs here (yet) but she can turn into a grizzly bear, a bald eagle, a cockroach, and a species of alien called a Hork Bajir, a tall herbivorous vaguely avian/reptilian species with several blades for climbing, pruning, and stripping bark from trees.
PLANS General: So Rachel still isn't sure what to make of this place. On the one hand, a second chance at life, in a reasonably peaceful and idyllic place, with Tobias. On the other hand, nothing about this makes sense and she is lowkey suspicious as hell about all of it.
Primary mission for me OOC is to get her to loosen up and socialize, because to start with she will be leaning way too hard on Tobias socially and obviously that's no fun. Also she has some complicated emotions to process, and uh- well, if any actual action happens, you miiiiiiiiiight see her scary side.

PLANS General: Clive is newly arrived and looking to settle in. I've been saying he's going to start a capybara farm and by god, he's gonna do it. there will be capybaras everywhere. Dream Board: A lot of these look fun, especially sweet child o mine and yin and yang. Who wants to help Clive sooth some cute baby animals so he can give his girl a sweet-smelling cashmere scarf?
Event: I'd rather have Clive on the Reverein side of the mirrors, so if any of your peeps need a buff dude to pull you out, he's your man. I'm not sure if I plan on top-leveling but I might do a catch-all post for him instead.
CR Dreams: His family is all here so he's super happy right now. I've said it already but he's ready and willing to act as a big brother or even a father figure for anybody who needs one. He's got a very soft heart for being as big and rugged as he is.
I'd like him to make friends, too. He's been the leader man for years, to the point where there haven't really been many people for him to just hang out with apart from Jill and Gav. I wouldn't even mind him making a few enemies, but I can't see him having the energy or caring enough about being someone's enemy unless they go out of their way to spite him or hurt his people.

Character: Pauline Boheur | ribbonbon Canon: Original, A week after her 16th birthday About: Pauline is a totally regular modern girl from 2010 Earth. She's generally kind and friendly, but she's also a people pleaser that lacks self confidence but tries really hard to come off as mature. As such, it's generally easy to rope her into things to get her to do work for little to no reward and she'll usually put up with a lot. She's fairly independent due to her dad being a workaholic and she can/will eat just about anything. Abilities: She doesn't have any power or supernatural abilities, but she does have little scraps of skills from being dragged into different club activities. EX: She can sew up a small hole in a piece of clothing, but can't do major alterations. She can paint a wall or make small props, but she wouldn't be able to build large set pieces. Once she's able to get a handle on dreamotion, I'm considering having her powers revolve around temperature or weather effects.
PLANS General: She's working on learning Dreamotion! She's doing her best on her own, but she may need some help eventually.
Event: I'll probably toplevel and tag out for the event; Pauline is going to remain in Reverein, but she's going to, at some point, lose her willingness to work hard and help others. She'll still be easily coerced into helping but it'll be less "Yes, I can help!" and more "Ugh, FIIIINE." Alastor would be completely chill about it. The meat you get from a butcher had to come from a living animal, too. The only difference is that you're doing it yourself in this case and not having to deal with however many hands it had to pass through before it reached your plate.

As for what Josh can offer, even though his big brother has arrived, he’s still open to being a big bro himself to others. Whether it be as a mentor, confidant, research buddy, etc. If you need a character for your character to nerd out with, he’s your guy.

About:
Alastor is a demon from literal Hell. In life he was a radio broadcaster and serial killer with a penchant for cannibalism. He died and went to Hell, eliminating all of the old Overlords upon arrival. He himself then decided to just let others take the territory and do whatever entertained him...only after nine decades he's gotten pretty bored of Hell.
He likes to screw with people and takes delight in others' suffering. However, he has a warped moral compass that compels him to protect the weak. He's taken to traveling to various people's nightmares with the idea of being entertained. He'll step in when he thinks it's not being fun anymore.
During the two years he’s been in Reverein, he’s grown to genuinely love the place. As a result, if something threatens the town, he’ll step up with none of the usual pretext. He’ll still be acting like this is all grand fun (and it is!) but he’ll risk his existence to keep his personal Eden safe.

After his canon update, he can also summon tentacles from his back like he can in Hell. However unlike in Hell, this causes him pain so he tries not to use that trick more than he has to.

General Plans
Since arriving with the first group, Alastor has been slowly working his way towards becoming a guardian though he'll never admit to such a position. He likes hopping from nightmare to nightmare to witness all the fun forms of torment but if someone is weak, he'll step in due to his moral code. He can't be relied upon to save others, but as time went on and he started to care more, he could at least be counted on to pull people out of jams under the pretense that he thought the challenge might be entertaining.
In recent months, he’s started really stepping up, risking existence to keep Reverein as a whole safe and having a grand time doing it. He’s put a lot of work into this town including adding a radio studio where anyone can broadcast and he intends to see it continue.
However, mid-February Alastor took a week-long nap to get caught up on the happenings in Hell. Amazingly enough, his development there ran very similarly including risking existence to help those he came to care for. However, in Hell he wasn’t as successful, losing both Sir Pentious and Dazzle because he wasn’t strong enough to protect them by holding back Adam just a little longer. He’s honestly really shaken beneath that smile. In Reverein, he’s safe from the Deal he made back in Hell but he’s starting to feel the pressure even in this dream world since he’s even weaker here than he is in Hell. He’s started really focusing on a way to get out of that Deal to, as he puts it, “unclip [his] wings” but isn’t willing to tell anyone that such a thing even exists. He’d been content with the limits of his Deal up until now, but if he were running everything, he would never have to lose someone again from not being strong enough either here in Reverein or back in Hell.
Honestly, he always needs more friends. Being the boogeyman of Hell means that he doesn't get much socializing in. Arguably one reason he bargains in souls is to collect people who won't leave him. Despite his time in Reverein, he's still largely used to having people fleeing before he can even finish saying "hello". Redemption is a big theme in Hazbin Hotel but it's doubtful that Charlie's more idealistic measures would really work for him. He's lonely but his social skills are incredibly rusty.
Fair warning though: Alastor picks favorites but he's a pretty amiable (if kind of terrifying) person all around. Once he's decided you're one of his favorites, he'll invade your personal space every opportunity he gets though he won't let you touch him unless it's on his terms. So be prepared to be pulled in for random side-hugs, song-and-dance numbers, and other such nonsense.
Month-Specific Plans
Hellish New Arrivals
There's at least one denizen from Alastor's Hell that arrived that he actually knows right out the gate for once, so he'll be showing the newbie the delights of their little shared dream world. Also a good place to get booze.
And if that other guy got in, Alastor might help. Under protest.
Possible Cat Adoption
Alastor is debating asking to adopt one of the Wild Harvest's new kitties because his kitty is a big old sourpuss. He doesn't wanna jinx his new living situation with Madhuri, but he has a habit of losing roommates. Might be good to have a pet there just in case.
Also needs the purring to help with trauma from home yaaaaay.Mirror World
Alastor will be one of the people sucked into the Mirror World which means Hell will be warped even farther. While Alastor's broadcasts in reality will be normal, those in this even more twisted realm will hear a broadcast of screams.
Still working out the details, but say "hello" to the version of Alastor most people in Hell are terrified of.

Still debating the details, but I feel like Alastor is going to struggle with this one. Particularly given recent memories in Hell with Adam and the Exorcists. He faced the same test he faced in Reverein with Orkili's reactor nearly going Nightmare Chernobyl, but he failed in Hell where he succeeded in Reverein. "I got so lucky in Orkili. What if next time I'm not strong enough? I'm weaker here than I am even in bound by my Deal in Hell..."
Regardless of if it's calming down the fish or trying to make the sun come out over his head, he's not going to say what's bothering him. Try to blow it off like it's no big deal.

Abilities: She's very clever, very capable in both armed and unarmed combat, very good at lying and manipulating people. Fortunately, she does less of those lately.

She's gonna have to contend with the version of herself that went crazy on coronation day. Please help her not kill herself, the self-loathing is strong here. The mirror world will also start messing with her- she's going to become steadily more childlike as time goes on, first in behavior- and then in appearance. What she's manifesting isn't exactly her childhood self, though, it's something a little more recent to her.
CR Dreams: Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm hoping she can start, like. Getting more positive interactions with people she alienated... but alienating new people is also 100% on the table, always.

About: CW for violence, mind control, child soldiers, PTSD, and- look, Animorphs was a messed-up series.
Rachel used to be a pretty typical SoCal 90s kid. Early teens, good grades but hated school, loved shopping, aspiring gymnast, maybe a little more adventurous than was strictly good for her. Good parents, despite the split.
Then the friggin' alien brainslugs happened. The school performance dropped off, which is just as well because a bunch of the school was controlled by alien brainslugs. And suddenly, her, four other kids, and an alien who turns out to also be a kid are all that stands between the Earth and complete subjugation.
Did you know that being a child soldier is extremely traumatic? Especially when you realize you're starting to enjoy it? And have a hard time turning it off? And increasingly detaching from all of your friends, save for your boyfriend, who is- checks notes- a bird?
It's fine. You don't have to process your undiagnosed PTSD when you're dead, riiiight?
Abilities: Rachel's smart (albeit too reckless and impatient to apply it well sometimes) and in good shape (she was an aspiring professional gymnast even before the war), but none of that is what you're here about.
Thanks to alien technology, Rachel was given the ability to, by touching an animal for a few seconds, "acquire" their DNA and later turn into a perfect copy of that animal. She can't access all her morphs here (yet) but she can turn into a grizzly bear, a bald eagle, a cockroach, and a species of alien called a Hork Bajir, a tall herbivorous vaguely avian/reptilian species with several blades for climbing, pruning, and stripping bark from trees.
PLANS
General: So Rachel still isn't sure what to make of this place. On the one hand, a second chance at life, in a reasonably peaceful and idyllic place, with Tobias. On the other hand, nothing about this makes sense and she is lowkey suspicious as hell about all of it.
Primary mission for me OOC is to get her to loosen up and socialize, because to start with she will be leaning way too hard on Tobias socially and obviously that's no fun. Also she has some complicated emotions to process, and uh- well, if any actual action happens, you miiiiiiiiiight see her scary side.
Dream Board: Rachel may try to help out with the Koi. This may go poorly.
Event: Rachel will be staying on the Reverein-side of the mirror, and while I can probably poke at any of the event prompts, I'm particularly going to enjoy showing her what happened after she died.

About: Clive is Joshua's older brother and that's really all he's going to tell you about himself at first. He's a bit stoic but he's a good guy under the gruff exterior. He's also very soft for kids and animals.

Abilities: Honestly he's very content not to use any of his powers for a while. I do reference his abilities in the app, but at most he'll semi-prime with Ifrit power for brief spurts.

General: Clive is newly arrived and looking to settle in. I've been saying he's going to start a capybara farm and by god, he's gonna do it. there will be capybaras everywhere.
Dream Board: A lot of these look fun, especially sweet child o mine and yin and yang. Who wants to help Clive sooth some cute baby animals so he can give his girl a sweet-smelling cashmere scarf?
Event: I'd rather have Clive on the Reverein side of the mirrors, so if any of your peeps need a buff dude to pull you out, he's your man. I'm not sure if I plan on top-leveling but I might do a catch-all post for him instead.
CR Dreams: His family is all here so he's super happy right now. I've said it already but he's ready and willing to act as a big brother or even a father figure for anybody who needs one. He's got a very soft heart for being as big and rugged as he is.
I'd like him to make friends, too. He's been the leader man for years, to the point where there haven't really been many people for him to just hang out with apart from Jill and Gav. I wouldn't even mind him making a few enemies, but I can't see him having the energy or caring enough about being someone's enemy unless they go out of their way to spite him or hurt his people.

About: Pauline is a totally regular modern girl from 2010 Earth. She's generally kind and friendly, but she's also a people pleaser that lacks self confidence but tries really hard to come off as mature. As such, it's generally easy to rope her into things to get her to do work for little to no reward and she'll usually put up with a lot. She's fairly independent due to her dad being a workaholic and she can/will eat just about anything.
Abilities: She doesn't have any power or supernatural abilities, but she does have little scraps of skills from being dragged into different club activities. EX: She can sew up a small hole in a piece of clothing, but can't do major alterations. She can paint a wall or make small props, but she wouldn't be able to build large set pieces. Once she's able to get a handle on dreamotion, I'm considering having her powers revolve around temperature or weather effects.
PLANS
General: She's working on learning Dreamotion! She's doing her best on her own, but she may need some help eventually.
Event: I'll probably toplevel and tag out for the event; Pauline is going to remain in Reverein, but she's going to, at some point, lose her willingness to work hard and help others. She'll still be easily coerced into helping but it'll be less "Yes, I can help!" and more "Ugh, FIIIINE." There will also be a reflectionless mirror in her home that will produce duplicates of both objects in her home and duplicates of herself that she may need help wrangling.
CR Dreams: Any CR is fun CR! I'd like for her to make some teenager friends to do teenager things with. She's also relatively "normal" so if anyone wants an exasperated normie that's easy to boss around, lets goooo! Pauline could also probably benefit from having some Trusted Adults in her life.
