✵ CR MEME: JANUARY 2022 ✵

Welcome to Songerein's CR Meme! A place where players can dump info on their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. We have a handy dandy form so go forth, tell us about yourself and your characters, and start plotting! You can refer to the Mod Announcement for plotting ideas for the month and beyond! Continuing or using things from the recent TDM. Nightmares are abound this month and we have the mini event ahead, so definitely make any mention of those if you have something in mind.

Canon: The Great Ace Attorney, post-game

About: Susato Mikotoba's dad and also adoptive dad to that troublemaker- I mean that whippersnapper- I mean Kazuma Asogi. Handsome widower who is calm, composed and more than he seems. Knows an awful lot about dead bodies, since he's a professor in forensics. Comes across as stern at first glance, but is actually very kind and amicable. Always up for a good laugh. Abilities: He has no canon abilities aside from a fighting technique that was supposedly passed down in the family. I don't quite know yet what sort of abilities he'll develop later on, am open to suggestions!
Dreamwalker Form: Just his usual self, with at most a difference in the outfit he's wearing.

Plans:
- Firstly, he'll be working with Jude Mathis to set up a clinic. While Jude will be handling the more 'magical' kinds of healing techniques, Yujin's the oldskool medical expert who would hypothetically perform surgery if it's ever needed. (Eh, 76?)
- Secondly, this is more of a group thing so I'd like to hear some other opinions on this: Reverein doesn't have any law-enforcement people, nor even written laws. So I was wondering if it'd be cool if Yujin suggests setting up a sort of... council of representatives to establish these laws and then recruit fighter characters who would like to help enforce these laws if necessary. What do you think? Is that anything?

CR Dreams: He's very good with kids and canonically just kinda takes in any stray kids to come his way, so if he ends up adopting anyone that would be sweet! But also he can chill with adults since he has lots of life experience and can roll with the punches. He doesn't take offense too easily, which might be good for the more abbrasive/blunt characters.

Character: Otto Octavius | Spider-Man (Raimi movies)
Canon: Spider-Man 2, after making a very shady deal with Harry Osborn

About: Short story: violent sourpuss puppeteered by mechanical tentacles. Longer story: Fallen scientist who suffered from an experiment gone wrong and ended up with mechanical limbs welded directly into his spine. Also he got voices in his head telling him to do bad stuff. Originally in the movie, these 'voices' are the tentacles' AI, but with the way Songerein's setting works, the AI never carried over. Instead, a type of dream spirit infiltrated Otto's dream self to mimic the AI and continue feeding his insanity.

Abilities:
- His tentacles are extremely durable, impervious to magnetism, impervious to heat, have superhuman strength, are equipped with little tools and are able to grow to 24 feet in length. Each equipped with a jaw that can snap and dig into surfaces, allowing Otto to climb up vertical surfaces.
- As for dreamotion and such, aside from accidental emotional stuff he probably won't actively look into this stuff until he has to. He's more of a science man than a magic man.
Dreamwalker Form: It'll probably be changed up depending on what's happening.

Plans: Still getting settled in a very literal sense; he took one of the empty warehouses by the riverside and will be converting it into a workshop that's very much off-limits. Trespassers will face a very angry octopus man. He's also trying to gather materials and stockpile them, so that he can eventually try to rebuild that solar reactor thing. He doesn't even care whether Songerein needs this thing to produce energy, he just wants to prove his theory was sound. (It was not sound and if he ever does complete this thing, it will undoubtedly lead to a plot where people will have to stop it.)

CR Dreams: He is a very reckless jerk who causes a lot of property damage and has no qualms with stealing. He has sticky fingers and sticky tentacles. I don't think it's impossible to build positive CR with him as he is right now, but ultimately he's an antagonistic force.

Character: Satan, Avatar of Wrath|

Canon: Obey Me! - Lesson 41. At some point I will probably canon update him either to lesson 61 or lesson 80 depending on the release schedule.

About: Satan is a cat-obsessed demon who his brothers describe as "very difficult to read" while Satan disagrees with that assessment wholeheartedly. He is in a weird position being the fourth oldest of his brothers while also being physically the youngest. That's what happens when you exist as a consciousness inside the Avatar of Pride, who then got so mad he birthed a whole ass other living being (Satan) from his wrath.

Despite being a demon and the Avatar of Wrath, he's surprisingly good-natured. He's just as happy to talk about cats as he is culture, science and magic. He has a natural inclination to pursue knowledge because ~~he doesn't want his brothers to disregard him~~ he feels societies respect someone who is well-educated.

That being said, he doesn't lose his temper often but when he does, his anger is already environmentally destructive in canon so I'm sure everything will be just fine with dreamotion energy, mhmm. He is aware of that, though, and is really doing his best to keep his anger in check. Mostly because he'd like for his home not to explode or catch fire.

Abilities:
In canon, his abilities are very vague. He's very good at using magic and could probably do a lot of good with said magic if he weren't so busy trying to use it to curse, hex and torture Lucifer. By extension, he's also very good at potion crafting. He's been studying the various plants here and has been experimenting with them in different potion/poison/antidote use. A moment of silence for his brother Mammon who is often his test subject... usually unawares....
For dreamwalking, he has specifically been working on using memories and dreamotion energy to create holograms of... things. Mostly people, but of objects, too. It helps him understand how things are put together. He's been at it for a few months, but the holograms are far from perfect. He can do objects without too much trouble though.

Dreamwalker Form: Nothing special here! Usually it will either be his actual demon form or a fake angel form. He really hates the latter.

Plans: Right now he's just doing a lot of general research to learn what he can about the world. He's already pretty good at magic and enjoys using it. He'd be happy to share what he knows with anyone, especially if it will be useful in improving Reverein. Yeah, he's a bad demon.

CR Dreams: Open to any kind of CR! He is happy to gush over cats, talk about books, science, magic, etc. He's not an expert in anything other than magic (more like just ~advanced~ in magic) but he's always looking to improve himself. Just... don't mistake him for Lucifer. Don't do it.

Etc.: I present to you the Avatar of Wrath out of context:

You say positive CR is impossible, but Luca enjoys talking science with Otto so far. Plus, I guess they have some similarities; Luca is also a disgraced science person, an experiment gone wrong messed with his brain, and he still wants to build an energy thing to prove himself.

But Luca's more polite and his theories aren't immediately gonna doom us all, so let's see how long it will be before the two of them start arguing.

I've really been enjoying their talks and developing CR, even with at times it seeming to be strictly on a sort of 'business' atmosphere 76 has been relaxing a bit, negl.

Also sorry-not-sorry about a bloody man to eventually be dropped on a doorstep at some point here.

Also if Yujin brought up the subject anywhere public, or the old soldier caught wind of it any other way, 76 does know a thing or two about councils and laws and- well he played the political game of being the head of a government funded group who helped keep the peace around the world for over twenty-some years. He'd have Thoughts and probably some warnings on what to look out for- if that'd be an interesting little thing to bat around.

fdkhal well susato would definitely be hyperaware of either of them being missing from the wild harvest, and of course she lives with yujin, not that he likes to tell her anything either :) i was thinking it'd be cute for her to show up with a bouquet of flowers for him (not necessarily the glowing dawn ones but maybe ones with some hidden meaning like good luck/fortune/health) but if he got hurt gathering the flowers she might...forgo the idea and figure out something else. maybe like some sort of good luck charm, something she could conceivably hand-make quickly? she could make matching ones for them.

though it was not his intention, him telling her how he got kazuma back (combined with other things) actually allowed her to figure out a large part of what kazuma has been hiding, which she was able to call him out on, and even though she doesn't quite have the full story, i think she'll kind of feel like she owes 76 for that. at the same time, i think part of her will always wish she had been the one able to do that for kazuma, so it's an interesting internal conflict of sorts. she just wants to feel useful, but it's hard when you're 16 and inexperienced!!!

and if he ever wants a change of scenery every once and a while, the mikotoba house is definitely open to him too :) pls keep warm.

ngl i'm already getting big sis vibes from her in their thread and i love it. my knowledge of FF7 mostly comes from memes and general osmosis but i'm definitely looking forward to seeing where they go! susato has knowledge of martial arts so if you do go that route, i'd love for susato to join her class.

bonus: she also has fire powers that she is slowly harnessing :)

I didn't think of it until just now, but if Zelda ever sees Otto in person, the tentacles will immediately remind her of a Guardian stalker's legs.

I don't have anything else for you atm besides my eventual interest in CR with this jerk. I just had to share my realization.

Since Zelda is also starting to work with Jude on his anti-Noctaere research, I think it's inevitable that Zelda and Yujin are going to cross paths somewhere around there. Since she's pretty good with botany and related things like herbalism/chemistry, I think she could be a helpful addition to the forthcoming clinic.

I also like what we discussed on Plurk the other day about Yujin's greenhouse. And I got to thinking, is it plausible that he might offer to share that space with Zelda and let her grow some of her plants there? That could be a good opportunity for continuing CR.

Also, Zelda would probably get involved in discussing a council, laws, and a peacekeeping corps. It's not an area where she has a lot of confidence, but she's well educated in the subject as her kingdom's crown princess. She would be keen to bring up the need for representation not only from the dreamwalkers, but the faeries and other native inhabitants of Reverein.

We need to do something low-key with these two soon/eventually/whenever. They're getting plenty of emotional intensity right now. Maybe it's about time for them to meet and compare their research notes like the huge nerds they are?

About: A shrinking violet if there ever was one, Noel is an extremely meek girl lacking self-confidence and social skills, but on the flip side she's also very polite, sweet and friendly, always ready to help others in any way possible. She means well and tries her best, especially when it comes to protecting and taking care of her friends and family. It might be hard to believe given her personality, but she's also a trained solider and a highly-skilled fighter, though she genuinely prefers to resolve things without resorting to violence.

What she doesn't want you to know is that she's also secretly a man-made weapon of mass destruction with a deeply-rooted grudge against all mankind. Also, she's a God incarnate. Look, she has a lot of things going on and she didn't ask for any of it.

Abilities: Like mentioned above, Noel is a soldier well-versed in physical combat. On a more supernatual side of things, please refer to her app for details, but the tl;dr version is: can use a wide variety of spells, has magical guns and won't hesitate to use them, has an Avengers-level threat Final Form that she's keeping under wraps for the time being, and possesses a multitude of abilities related to her God status, from willing things into existence to accidentally reading people's memories to rewriting the entire reality (the latter obviously being nerfed for game purposes).

Also, she's a terrible cook, to the extent where it should count as a special power.

Dreamwalker Form: Nothing special yet, just herself! BUT WITH A TWIST COMING (see below)

Plans: With all the nightmares (and especially her own ones) around, Noel will eventually break down and revert to her Mu-12 persona, thus becoming a (mostly) emotionless killing machine with a lot of disdain towards humans and zero remorse (as well as questionable wardrobe choices). As such, I'm looking for:
a) people to get into fights with (she's a weapon, that's what she does),
b) people crazy enough to try and use said weapon for something (she may be willing to follow orders, though mostly for destroying things),
c) eventually, someone who would be willing to help her get her shit together and snap out of it (though that won't be until somewhere later down the line),
d) ... and anyone else who wants to live out a dream of a close encounter with a terminator lol

I don't have a specific date in mind yet, and I'm more than happy to accommodate to other people interested in this, so feel free to join me on this adventure!

CR Dreams: Generally speaking, if you're looking for a cute little sister type of character, she's your gal! Beneath that adorable klutz surface, she's the type to help out anyone and everyone and Do The Right Thing, so it's not difficult for her to get involved in other people's mess. However, she also takes people at face value, making her a little naive.

Given the plans above, however, this is the time if you'd like to angle for more negative CR ─ since she reverts to her terminator self, it will be easy to come to blows with her. She might be a bit less stab-happy towards non-humans, but at the end of the day, she's still a murderbot.

Etc.:

~~She just turned 18! (I gave her a headcanon birthday.) But she was also sealed away for like ~40 years before coming here, so she's technically a spry 58-ish years old.~~

Zelda also loves being science buddies with Luca! She thinks he's brilliant (memory issues aside) and she feels like she's learning a lot from him. I would love for Luca to help her build her little robot later on! She was only like 5 or 6 when she built it with her mother originally and she might not receive any schematics for it from the wishing well.

i'd still love for these two to meet, especially if she'll be crossing paths with yujin/her dad at while he and jude work at their eventual clinic. she's always down for more dreamotion practice buddies too--susato's mainly been developing an affinity for fire, but i've been toying with the idea of mixing in an element of light in the future.

i had this image of susato having to make a run to the clinic to bring lunch to her dad, which he probably forgot, and running into jude and/or zelda that way, but it's just a thought, and i'd love for them to meet sooner!

Either option is honestly precious as fuck, and matching good luck charms- he would keep it somewhere close on him because she's already broken in to that soft spot he still has despite all of his protest and denial and gruff. Definitely will not be something easily hidden if attempted since the initial injury is going to be enough to put him on bed rest for a bit, and then needing to take it easy despite how quickly he heals and ho much he can endure and tolerate pain-wise.

How do you slow a super soldier down? Nearly kill them, apparently!(Honestly he needs to.)

He'll keep himself as someone to lean on at least and he'd be glad to know he helped at all. 16 is a confusing and hard as hell time, and he remembers that much and would damn well believe could be even harder for her.

Yes, yes good. Depending on how it goes he might have to bounce between the two because he sure as hell can't go right back to the woods after Nearly Dying, fffff.

I hope Otto is ready for a persistent and annoyingly sturdy hanger-on, because Ferran really wants to know what his deal is.

maybe both!! lmao i just think she would be afraid he would hate having flowers around if flowers had anything to do with how he got hurt, but like. she can also tell him/them she's working on something else at the same time and that they should come see her before they go out again. which may not be for a while (read: better not be for a while), so she'll probably finish making whatever they are well beforehand. i'll do some research into japanese good luck charms or something and see if anything speaks to me.

Both would be good! He'll at least be able to ease that worry because despite going to the cave to check on the flowers he'd be taking full blame personally for whatever happened because despite being cautious he clearly wasn't cautious enough and will have a good idea why he was attacked. Like not have the full idea of why but the basis "They sensed something about me finally and I guess they didn't like it and I got too close." Even when being careful shit can always happen!! Yes, good /o/

There may be a ghostly edgy visitor where ever he is because I don't doubt Reaper will make sure his dumbass is resting because that asshole will know how bad of a patient 76 can be with his need and inability to sit still for long ffff =|

I just gotta say I'm already enjoying their interaction and just look forward to seeing more and how their CR could grow. Cooking is definitely a hobby he's got a deep fondness for, and despite how he lives he's pretty good and gets a little fancy with some things while others are very at home comfortingly easy and rustic.

Also game for coming up with good dish combos and letting in a bit about the honeyed moonshine he's been making- and making it weak enough normal people can drink it.

he's gonna have to, and Reaper's been digging in to who 76 has been associating with anyway even if so far he's only met Kazuma and What An Impression Was Made.

We'll see since currently we're threading out "76 Got Fucked Up, Reaper Has Come For Him" and seeing how that rolls he's going to have to be taken to someone that actually is a medical doctor of some sort! Might end up going getting in touch with Kazuma who gets in touch with Yuji and Susato can be there at the time or something but however it goes Reaper'll have to be carrying 76 as he's gonna be in an extremely Poor™ state.

jfeihuf i don't know that it would actually happen this way but i would love for susato to answer that door just to see the scene and be like "[blink, blink] ah yes my mistake clearly i was not awake enough for this. dad??" before low/high key flipping out and asking a million questions.

flskjsdafl sorry, what I meant is that positive CR is not impossible, just a challenge since he's a very abrasive antagonistic force. But science is one of those few things he's actually willing to discuss peacefully, so yes, Luca absolutely has a better chance of positive CR than most.
