✵ CR MEME: JANUARY 2022 ✵

Welcome to Songerein's CR Meme! A place where players can dump info on their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. We have a handy dandy form so go forth, tell us about yourself and your characters, and start plotting! You can refer to the Mod Announcement for plotting ideas for the month and beyond! Continuing or using things from the recent TDM. Nightmares are abound this month and we have the mini event ahead, so definitely make any mention of those if you have something in mind.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Otto Octavius | Spider-Man

Character: Otto Octavius | Spider-Man (Raimi movies)
Canon: Spider-Man 2, after making a very shady deal with Harry Osborn

About: Short story: violent sourpuss puppeteered by mechanical tentacles. Longer story: Fallen scientist who suffered from an experiment gone wrong and ended up with mechanical limbs welded directly into his spine. Also he got voices in his head telling him to do bad stuff. Originally in the movie, these 'voices' are the tentacles' AI, but with the way Songerein's setting works, the AI never carried over. Instead, a type of dream spirit infiltrated Otto's dream self to mimic the AI and continue feeding his insanity.

Abilities:
- His tentacles are extremely durable, impervious to magnetism, impervious to heat, have superhuman strength, are equipped with little tools and are able to grow to 24 feet in length. Each equipped with a jaw that can snap and dig into surfaces, allowing Otto to climb up vertical surfaces.
- As for dreamotion and such, aside from accidental emotional stuff he probably won't actively look into this stuff until he has to. He's more of a science man than a magic man.
Dreamwalker Form: It'll probably be changed up depending on what's happening.

Plans: Still getting settled in a very literal sense; he took one of the empty warehouses by the riverside and will be converting it into a workshop that's very much off-limits. Trespassers will face a very angry octopus man. He's also trying to gather materials and stockpile them, so that he can eventually try to rebuild that solar reactor thing. He doesn't even care whether Songerein needs this thing to produce energy, he just wants to prove his theory was sound. (It was not sound and if he ever does complete this thing, it will undoubtedly lead to a plot where people will have to stop it.)

CR Dreams: He is a very reckless jerk who causes a lot of property damage and has no qualms with stealing. He has sticky fingers and sticky tentacles. I don't think it's impossible to build positive CR with him as he is right now, but ultimately he's an antagonistic force.

You say positive CR is impossible, but Luca enjoys talking science with Otto so far. Plus, I guess they have some similarities; Luca is also a disgraced science person, an experiment gone wrong messed with his brain, and he still wants to build an energy thing to prove himself.

But Luca's more polite and his theories aren't immediately gonna doom us all, so let's see how long it will be before the two of them start arguing.

flskjsdafl sorry, what I meant is that positive CR is not impossible, just a challenge since he's a very abrasive antagonistic force. But science is one of those few things he's actually willing to discuss peacefully, so yes, Luca absolutely has a better chance of positive CR than most.

I didn't think of it until just now, but if Zelda ever sees Otto in person, the tentacles will immediately remind her of a Guardian stalker's legs.

I don't have anything else for you atm besides my eventual interest in CR with this jerk. I just had to share my realization.

I hope Otto is ready for a persistent and annoyingly sturdy hanger-on, because Ferran really wants to know what his deal is.

Perhaps if Ferran tries hard enough and gets to a chance to invade a more personal dream, he will find out what the deal is.

I am looking forward for more CR with Yujin and Otto very much. Don’t worry, Otto: Anya has a lot of patience before she gets into snark mode when she is pushed to her limits.
