Welcome to Songerein's Plot With Me Meme! It's an abbreviated version of the CR Meme where the main focus is figuring what you want to do for the month, such as listing out which quests you're interested, any personal plots you have in mind, and initial thoughts on the event (event will have its own plotting section as always). It's similar to a CR Meme, with just a little different focus on the form. You can refer to the Mod Announcement for plotting ideas for the month and beyond!

About:
Alastor is a demon from literal Hell. In life he was a radio broadcaster and serial killer with a penchant for cannibalism. He died and went to Hell, eliminating all of the old Overlords upon arrival. He himself then decided to just let others take the territory and do whatever entertained him...only after nine decades he's gotten pretty bored of Hell.

He likes to screw with people and takes delight in others' suffering. However, he has a warped moral compass that compels him to protect the weak. He's taken to traveling to various people's nightmares with the idea of being entertained. He'll step in when he thinks it's not being fun anymore.

Plans:
Alastor is slooooowly working his way towards becoming a guardian though he'd never admit to such a position. He likes hopping from nightmare to nightmare to witness all the fun forms of torment but if someone is weak, he'll step in due to his moral code. He can't be relied upon to save you but as time goes on and he starts to care more, he could at least be counted on to pull people out of jams.

I also just started a series of dreams based on the official Alastor comic which allows a character to walk a proverbial mile in his shoes if you're interested in that sort of thing. Though mind the key content warning: This is Hell from the prospective of a cannibalistic serial killer. Not Nice Things can and will happen.

Honestly, he needs more friends. Being the boogeyman of Hell means that he doesn't get much socializing in. Arguably one reason he bargains in souls is to collect people who won't leave him. He's used to having people flee before he can even finish saying "hello". Redemption is a big theme in Hazbin Hotel but it's doubtful that Charlie's more idealistic measures will really work for him. He's lonely but his social skills are hella rusty.

Fair warning though: Alastor picks favorites but he's a pretty amiable (if kinda terrifying) person all around. Once he's decided you're one of his favorites, he'll invade your personal space every opportunity he gets though he won't let you touch him unless it's on his terms. So be prepared to be pulled in for random side-hugs, song-and-dance numbers, and other such nonsense.

Of course, sooner or later he's going to get into trouble. All these trips into nightmares are going to drive him to full noctaere form at some point, so he's definitely going to need people to snap him out of it.

Etc.:

I desire more interaction between them, especially now that the whole reason Asura ripped Alastor apart in his dreamscape is no longer in Songerein.

I mean he's not going to apologize for it but I do want to see how this develops.

Oh absolutely! These two definitely need to bump into each other again.

Still leaning towards him not remembering but it's not that the memory was erased, just locked away in case we ever want it to have some sort of upheaval in the future. Sound good?

Near the end of this month or the beginning of next month I might put up the next part of Alastor's "Day in the Afterlife" dream series if Asura would like to hit up that or backtrack to Part 1.

I'm surprised I still haven't tagged him yet (and still want to!), but I wonder how long it'll take until he reminds Knight of Grimm in terms of color palette and both being tall stylish motherfuckers.

I'm not entirely blind to Hazbin Hotel but I still haven't seen the pilot or any of the other official things yet. It looks like such a wild ride though.

Tall, stylish, red-and-black motherfuckers are a grand lot. I can see why you'd want the Knight to meet Al. XD They totally should.

I can give you a crash course in what I like to call "Helluva Hazbin" lore if you'd like or I can recommend a guy on YouTube who's made dozens of videos dissecting the lore. Honestly, you can watch the Helluva Boss web series on YouTube without ever watching the Hazbin pilot. They share the same world so you can get up-to-date worldbuilding from Helluva as they work on finishing Hazbin's official release, but honestly we're following two separate groups who just share the same world. Unless there's ever an official crossover event, the most you can expect to see are sly little references to one show in the other. Like the Angel Dust poster slipped into the background of the Lust Ring in Episode 7 of Helluva Boss even though sinners like Angel are limited to the Pride Ring.

Oh, I am a bit familiar with Helluva Boss, even though I have never seen those either |D. I had no idea it was part of same universe though.

Hell yeah let's go break some spider traps.

Yup! Same universe! The only difference between them is that Hazbin Hotel takes place in Pentagram City, the capitol of the Pride Ring, while Helluva Boss takes place in Imp City which is an entirely different city in the Pride Ring.

Breaking spider traps, messing up whoever keeps setting them. Definitely going to be a party!

Because I'm an amazing idiot, I forgot to add in stuff for this month's events. Feel free to pull ideas from this, too.

Rising Crime

Alastor doesn't sleep that much so you might find him out wandering the streets in case you run into trouble. He's used to the everyday evils of crime in Hell so it's like a little bit of "home" to him. Right now he's a little sad since one of his buddies is gone (not that he'll admit it out loud) so he's kind of wandering around and observing the petty crimes going on. Still, he will step in if someone weak is in trouble.

Bleeding Hearts

Alastor might accidentally create a Bleeding Heart because underneath the smiles, jokes, and general assholery, he's a very lonely man who's been pretty much isolated for decades. He wants to make connections but he can't bring himself to ask, instead forcing his presence upon others. I asked the mod squad about it and it seems they aren't purely romantic love-based creatures. I figure the character who gets that lovely Bleeding Heart snacking on them will feel that hollow emptiness of an observer outside the system wanting to be a part of it but unable to take that first step.

As far as getting infected goes, Alastor probably wouldn't have a Bleeding Heart hanging onto him for long. He's a twisted thing, and love is difficult for him. He can care about others, but as much as he wants the closeness, he instinctively holds people to the five-foot rule in more than just the literal sense. Though expect a Bleeding Heart that's temporarily latched onto him causing him to become super clingy and very hissy if you try to force him to let go while he's still "under the influence". Also expect a very overprotective deer demon if something threatens you while a Bleeding Heart has possessed him.

He is very interested in shadow powers from other worlds, so he'll likely come sniffing around if there's someone possessed in the area. He'll either observe how things play out or step in if he feels it necessary.

Lindwormeo and Juliet

Not sure if he's going to participate in this one at all. If he did, he wouldn't be part of the main couple. He'd be the guy watching it all play out, knowing that this is super doomed, and watching others scramble to futilely try and change fate. This has potential for negative CR with him given he'll be very blunt if he gets the chance to point out that there is nothing that can be done.

Dream Board

Witch's Brew Apothecary

Alastor is big on voodoo and that includes a lot of rootwork. He's going to chip in to assist because it's a potential in-road to expand his magical expertise. The potion for dealing with erasers is an added bonus.

Cupid's Arrow

Shockingly, he's not going to be the one slinging these arrows around. However, he is available to be a victim of the arrows. Either he can be directly shot by someone (maybe in an attempt to make him less of an asshole) or he could be the target of someone who's been shot's whacked-out affections. Guaranteed comedy gold!

Spider's Thread Traps

Hey, might as well make good use of these. Go out to clean up the traps, mercy kill creatures that are not likely to survive due to injuries or what not, and then have tons of jambalaya to potentially share. Win-win-win!

And if the irresponsible hunter shows up, well, he'll deal with them, too. "Stepping in to help the weak" isn't limited to sapient creatures. He's a responsible hunter even if he is a monster. Overhunting screws over everybody.

Hi, yes, hello, I would like this CR to continue, please. I wasn't planning on a top-level for her for this month but she's going to be participating in the Witch's Brew quest (and might be getting into some trouble in the forest because of it). Aside from that, she'll also be taking exception to any Bleeding Heart shenanigans she witnesses in general, and since she's one of those types who can mess with people's hearts/memories and such, she might get nosey. On the other hand, she's also got a lot of love in her non-heart for the people around her, so she's probably a prime target to have one jump from someone else to her.

All this to say, take your pick and we can try to make something happen, if you'd like!

Yes, this CR needs to continue. Alastor is thoroughly charmed by Namine. If anything happens to her, run.

Witch's Brew quest seems like a good way for them to hang out. He can teach her about herbs and stuff. Maybe pack some lunch so they can stray farther from town for more plants.

Bleeding Heart shenanigans would also be fun! Though I'm not sure which direction these two would go: Alastor producing a Bleeding Heart or Namine infected by one. Though if we wanted to be truly awful it could be Alastor produces the one that infects Namine. XD

She will endeavor to be a good ward but I can't promise she won't continue to fulfill her role as damsel in distress now and again because that's kind of her schtick. It's just she can set people on fire or freeze them to a wall for being mean to her afterward, now, not that she will.

Naminé's got some trepidation about going into the area outside the city at all, so she'd definitely want some company and/or supervision, and lunch is a nice bonus too. You can bet she'll remember anything he teaches her because hello, memory witch, what is it good for if she can't use her own memories as a cheat sheet??

But now, see, both with the Bleeding Heart stuff is exactly what crossed my mind as well - it'd certainly make a lot of sense if she caught the mean heart bug from him, since that's kind of all the options at once. I'm not picky, personally, since it seems like it'd work regardless of the direction!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a damsel in distress every-so-often! Not every lady is a strong, independent woman who needs no man! We embrace all types of women here!

Maybe we could do a thread for each? Like do the herbalism trip as one and then if you want we can also do a thread specifically for Bleeding Heart shenanigans if not in my log in one of yours? Let them get a little extra cute CR to lay the groundwork for feels. :3

Unfortunately for Naminé she's got a healthy dose of learned helplessness aside from the schtick itself, RIP. Ah well, at least she gets to blow things up sometimes in Songerein.

And sure, that works! They do need more cute adventures to better set up any feels later on. c: I see there's an open log post for him so I will throw Naminé in that general direction at some point this weekend, time permitting! I wasn't going to do a catch-all for Naminé for this month but it's seeming like the most practical option given what I've been hearing in the CR meme, so it's seeming like an inevitability. We can do one thread in each place, since that's the case.

In Namine's defense, it's not like she inflicted the learned helplessness on herself. She was pretty much helpless from the start given Organization XIII's control over her.

Don't worry, Namine. Alastor is going to teach you some things to better defend yourself. What are your thoughts on knives?

I just put up a catch-all for the month for convenience's sake. Most of the time I might get one, maybe two hits. So however you want to do this is good for me. Heck, maybe even do a private log with a setup specifically for the two of them for the herb thing!

As for cute adventures, I'm totally open to ideas. Even little silly things like Alastor's playing some jazz, spies Namine, and decides it's time for a random song and dance number to help turn her into a proper Disney princess. XD

Oh, yeah, it's definitely the result of a the whole 'kidnapping and child abuse' thing, which sounds dark for a KH game when you put it that way but that's... pretty much a thing. I tend to liken it to how they train baby elephants, if you're familiar. She can rip people in half with surprisingly little effort but just doesn't consciously view that as an option. (That and she's too nice to do it without serious provocation.)

Her thoughts on knives are that they're sharp and pointy and make people bleed, which is not a thing that she enjoys. She could probably be convinced for precautionary reasons, honestly, but, you know, whacking people with a stick is more up her somewhat-less-fatal alley. That and magic.

And yeah, sometimes that's just the practical option. I'm gonna look into methods, but I'll let you know whatever ends up happening with her log.

Looks like we've got our adventure covered for this month, but for the future, heck yes she's always down for a musical number!! She'll be a proper princess sooner or later at this rate. Just gotta learn to speak bird.
